Buckskin Neck Pouch Flint and Steel Kit

Received this and within ten minutes I had a fire and most of that time was making a tinder bundle great product would have been a 5 star but the pouch was made suede side out unlike the picture witch may result in premature wear was surprised to see it came with two good size pieces of Flintstone should be a great kit for bushcraft trips

Smaller than I thought it would be but the person who received the gift has used it and seems to enjoy it.

Really good product, flint a good size and great Bag, wish it (the bag) was a bigger to allow for a generous supply of tinder and char cloth since i carry 2 neck bags around my neck everyday all day and night.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this package. The pouch is very soft but very strong. The carry strap also is soft and strong making it easy to carry around your neck if you want to. The kit includes two decent sized pieces of flint, each with a series of sharp edges to produce sparks. The iron U shaped piece is a bit cumbersome but no big deal.It takes a bit of practice to throw usable sparks - but that is part of the fun. You also have to supply your own char cloth but there are plenty of U tube sites that provide that info.All in all - a really nice package.Tom

As a new bushcrafter, I had another flint and steel kit I tried and it was all blood sweat and tears after about 15 minutes of striking and maybe a spark every 25 strikes. Decided to try this kit to make sure it was the kit and not my inability to get a spark. First strike on this flint/steel and massive sparks!! So impressed and I dont feel like a loser now!

maybe I got a dud, but this thing won't spark but about every 15 strikes, and no even consistently in the same spot that just sparked.

Great simple product with unique leather bag. Good sparks and lit up the charcloth with no problems- I am a newcomer to this practice. I wish the Flint was bigger so I could chip off the dull edges. Do you sell extra Flint rock to go with the striker? I do recommend this fire starting kit to anyone learning the old ways of fire starting-

I would highly recommend this starter kit to anyone, If you order it make Char Cloth ahead of it arriving, I made my first Flint and Steel fire in under 5 minutes with this kit, The Flint is a Good quality in my opinion. The bag can be doubled as a tinder bag with the flint and steel, The flint pieces are big enough so you could flake off any blunt edge so you get a good striking edge for the steel as well.
