Owl Cardboard v2 VR Kit with Strap for Smartphones - Black

I only recently learned about Google Cardboard, but having tried out the Oculus Rift in the past I knew immediately that I wanted a pair. You can buy various types of Cardboard kits on Google's website, but I decided to check Amazon first (as I always do) to see if any would be available here in order to get Prime shipping. I was glad to see that there was, saving me about ten days of waiting time (thanks, Amazon!). After checking the different reviews on Amazon, I decided on this one in particular. I like the cool design, and wanted one that would be comfortable and sturdy.When holding this kit up to my eyes, it's very comfortable. To wear it with the included headband, there is some slight discomfort at the bridge of the nose where the stretchy headband places a bit of pressure from holding it secure to your head. I plan to put a bit of foam there to make it more comfortable.It was easy to get started with this kit. First, you'll need to download the free Cardboard app from the app store (for my android phone, it was in the Google Play store). It took maybe ten seconds to figure out how to fold the Owl cardboard into the right shape for viewing. By scanning the code on the Owl kit with the Cardboard app, my phone instantly synced with the type of kit I was using. After that, I slid my phone in and was ready to start viewing.I think this kit is definitely worth the amount I paid for it ($13), giving a great introduction into VR at a fraction of the cost of other systems. Especially with the prime shipping, this is cheaper than buying one directly from the Google website. The design of this kit is much cooler looking than the other kits, as well. The cardboard is pretty thick and sturdy, and the velcro has been holding up well to the abuse my daughter has put upon it. The button on the righthand top side is easy to press and works just as it's supposed to. I also like that it came with a headband and velcro pieces to attach it where I wanted to.And of course, the most important question: Does it work? Yes! It works great. My experience with it has been very similar to when I tried out the Oculus Rift VR system, and I've found it to be compatible with several different apps as well as YouTube videos. My daughter was amazed with it, as was my husband and my mother. Everyone wanted to use it at the same time, so I will probably need to buy a second pair soon in order for everyone to share and have fun with.

I bought this because it was inexpensive and I really wanted to try Google Cardboard before spending money on something more expensive. It's fun! I had to use some glue to fix it, but it's cardboard after all! The button works all the time. There's no focus options but to keep it close or far from your eyes. It comes well packaged and it's easy to make it work just out of the box. If you don't want to spend time assembling a cardboard, this is a great option.

I'm on iPhone 6s Plus and this item doesn't align correctly to slow you to see anything in focus.

I got this today and I was so happy with my purchase. I really believe this is the best version of Google Cardboard available in the lower price range.It was so easy to set up in 3 simple steps. There was no cutting, no putting slabs into holes, NOTHING. It was so simple unlike those OTHER complicated cardboards that you have to set up perfectly or they start falling apart on you. I love the design it just looks so much better than the boring brown plain cardboard ones. I think just for the design its worth the price. Then to top it all off I look in the box and was pleasantly surprised to find head straps!! I wasn't expecting this since it wasn't in the picture or in the product description. So you can imagine how happy I was with that. The viewer code scan worked but for some vr games the screen was too small. This isn't the company's fault its google's for not configuring it correctly to the viewer. Or it could be my phone since I have the older Galaxy s3 model. I fixed that problem by going to this website:http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/faq/vr-headset-qr-codes/ and choosing Google Cardboard 1.0. I went through each viewer and chose the best one that worked best with my phone. It made the vr games that were too small on the screen bigger. So happy with my purchase and I'll be telling everyone to buy this.

This is a fun inexpensive little gadget to amaze your friends with Android 3D games and Apps. Fun to watch their faces as their head bobs around and they laugh.It is a Google Cardboard clone, but has some black ink applied to make it look a little more finished.Button works great and both my Note 5 and Razr Maxx HD fit it fine.

My first cardboard experience was with the V2 StarWars promo that Google was giving away this December. We were all pretty blown away by it. I'm happy to say that this Owl V2 Cardboard matches it in quality and experience. Avoid the V1s. We ordered some of those before we realized there were two versions. They worked but have a smaller field of view and didn't correct my presbyopia as well.
