Better that standard tolex
OK, I wanted something other than the standard rough textured black tolex case. I searched high and low and finally came across this one. This case is a superb buy. It has a brown imitation leather outer shell that has a pretty smooth surface. The interior is much more padded than any standard case I have seen. The case closes with a VERY tight fit but that is a bonus because you know that the banjo isn't moving around in the case. The accessory compartment is PLENTY big. It has a very thick leather like handle that is comfortable in the hand. The only way this case could be better is if they added some way to attach shoulder straps if you needed them. All in all, this case offers superior protection, looks great, and isn't hard to pick out of the line up of cases at your local jam. I really don't think you will be disappointed with this case.

Great case for a resonator 5-string banjo!
This fit my 35-year-old Japanese import resonator banjo just fine. It offers lots of protection, the hardshell case is rugged and the internal pocket is large enough for spare strings, capos, picks. And the suspension aspects of the case keep the pressure off the important spots such as the bridge, keeping the pressure on the rim and carefully cradling the head-stock with movable foam wedges.

Nice resonator banjo case but hard to close lid
I have an Ibanez B200 and it's very tedious to close the top with the banjo in the case. The padding around the resonator is very dense and I have to push the banjo down fairly firmly to get the instrument into the case. Trying to close the lid involves pushing in on the bottom part of the case so the the top will go over it and then latching that section. I took the foam out of the resonator portion as it's only contact cemented in and cut it in half. After reinstalling the foam and tucking the nice green fabric in the banjo goes in easily, but closing the cover still has the same issue. Maybe mine is just a bad build. Appearance wise I think that the outside and inside are very nice looking and provides very good protection. There is very little room between the headstock and the top of the case, but the banjo is held in so securely I don't think it matters unless you are planning on dropping the case headstock down.

good value
Case is bulletproof, a very tight fit around the banjo, and plenty of padding, my only complaint is that it is very tough to close. At first I was worried that it was putting undue amounts of stress on the bridge, but from the impressions you would see, I can tell that it is not pressing on the bridge. It is pressing on the top outside edge of the body, which makes it very tough to close.Hopefully in time it will break in and become a better fit. It is made for a wide variety of banjos not a specific model and that would explain the excess padding. Good case, and a good buy

I like it. My boyfriend who I bought it for hates it. He does not like the green lining.

Price vs quality - Not a match!
Not what i expected... The funny thing is i wanted a "cheap" hard case for my new banjo, but kinda wanted to follow the same style i have for my ukuleles with is "Stagg" brand. And the style looks like this. But also i knew i wanted some more protection for my banjo as it's quite heavy. Anyhoo ended up with this - It was much more expensive than the other "cheap" ones so i expected it to be in better quality than the others but that was not the case. It scratches really easy, and when it does - The "pleather" rip right though. The handle is flimsy. But it gets the job done.
