Perfect for a desert hike
Perfect! The front pockets are placed at your side under your arms, But, they are detachable so you can move them further forward. Otherwise, your arms hit them with every swing. When I bent my arms, my elbows grazed the top of the water bottle in back just slightly. You could wear the belt a little lower on the hips to avoid that. Or, maybe it doesn't matter if you wear sleeves. It is far easier to reach for the bottles at this angle. The water pockets hold my hydro flask insulated, wide mouth 18 oz. bottles perfectly. I agree with other reviewers that the original bottles are well made stainless and they appear to be insulated, but I prefer a wide mouth for ease in cleaning. My Samsung S5 phone just barely fits in the back bag. For a half day hike, this is very comfortable to wear and easy to adjust. I would definitely buy this again or give as a gift to anyone who hikes.

Does not fit around waist, buckle broke
The apparatus itself doesnt fit around the waist right and rides so i am constantly having to adjust it while running. The seller said that the remedy to this is to simply wear it above the hips, which would be around the "stomach/midsection. Well not only is this incredibly uncomfortable, but it feels so constricting being worn this way it actually affects my breathing while i run. The band also seems to loosen as i run so im constantly having to stop to tighten it. To top it all off, i was attempting to tighten the band one day as i had to stop to tighten it and one of the prongs on the buckle broke. Im pretty new to amazon so i dont know how to upload pictures yet but what happened is identical to a picture in another review i read. Luckily it still fastens so i can still "use" it but overall this pack is useless for running.

Great for hiking.
It's a bit too heavy for running. But it's really great otherwise. And an added plus: the bottles keep things cold for 24 hours with ice in them. It's going to be fab for hiking and love the fact you can add or take away storeage pouches. Nicely made. Bottles have nice clips and ring on them for hooking to another pack if you want. Good bang for buck!!

BROKE ON FIRST USE
I bought this hydration pack for my husband who runs trail marathons. After one 16-mile trail run in the mountains, under normal conditions -- no rain or inclement weather -- the buckle BROKE. One of its clasps snapped right off. After his third run, a twenty miler, the other clasp snapped at mile 12, and he had to run for 8 miles carrying the hydration belt in his hand. That is not the purpose of a belt. It gets worse. I took photos and sent them to the seller, and they ignored my requests for a replacement buckle. They never responded at all. There is NO LIFETIME WARRANTY as advertised on this product page. I am very disappointed in this seller and in this purchase.

I tried it for that and it works great. Decided to try it on a run as ...
I primarily bought this for hiking on short trips. I tried it for that and it works great .Decided to try it on a run as well but didn't work out as well, was just a bit uncomfortable , bulky and bounced around .So basically for walking and hiking this is perfect and fantastic value if you think that you get the 2 bottles with it. If your looking at it for running and run at a semi quick pace then look for something else

Best hydration belt out there! Keeps your water cool!
Love it!!! I bought this belt to run my non-official half marathon where I will only have access to the water I bring with me and this past weekend I tested on a shorter run to see how it performed and it did as expected. It didn't juggle around, but it did try to rotate a bit around my waist, but I believe that is due to the way I move, it tried to rotate to the left and i am left handed. I didn't expect it to stay completely in place so it was ok. The bottles keep the water cool which was a huge must for me, when i am all sweaty and overheated, the last thing i want is warm water from a plastic bottle. the bottles are easy to get out and put back in, and they stay in thanks to some well thought elastic loops attached to the holder. The belt is made of extremely good quality materials. The 3 pockets it provides are excellently sized! The one on the right can comfortably fit my galaxy s6 with the case on, the back pocket which is also the media pocket can fit the phone comfortably without the case on, bear in mind I do have one of those bulky everythingproof cases in, this pocket also has a little ID card where you can put your information on and an interior partition where you could slide a drivers license or card. The pocket on the left has a mesh panel which makes it breathable and i could see myself sticking a wrapped banana in there with no fear lol. The belt is sturdy and sustains its form without chafing or being uncomfortable to the wearer. I am really happy with my purchase and confident I will be using it a lot for my long solo runs. I feel like it was definitely designed by a runner. :D

sturdy, plenty of compartments
Husband loves the belt for 8 mile walk/runs. There is enough room for iphone, snacks, keys, money,,,water bottles are too heavy though, so swaps for lighter plastic ones. The water bottles are good for errands, but wish there was a quick sput to drink from.

Can't find any faults with it. A good buy!
I am relatively new to trail running, so I relied on Amazon reviews to buy this hydration belt, and after using it for a couple of weeks, I am pretty happy with it. I can't really find anything to complain about. If you keep the waistbelt tight, it doesn't bounce much at all. The pockets hold plenty including my gargantuan cellphone (which is tracking my miles and calories burned via GPS). The bottles are attractive and dont leak. Thery are easy to put in and out of hte holders, and I have learned to lopp the elastic around it by feel, but so far when I have run without the elastic loops, the bottles did not try to ride up and out. Its attractive and highly functional, and I love mine!
