Very excitedly recorded a message. Took a few times for us to get it right but it was super easy. Sturdy enough construction although very basic in design. Slid open the battery tray so that I could see what kind they were for when I needed to replace them. I did not remove the batteries, just slid open the tray and slid it back. I was not concerned because it said your message is still saved even when you change the batteries. Ever since I slid it back it would not work. The little red light went on as if it was recording, but nothing plays back but static. I tried fudging with the battery tray thinking maybe something wasn't "connecting" right. After a few minutes I was able to record a new message. It played back perfectly. We were relieved. Went to play it again and nothing. It was gone too. I still have the 2nd one that come in the package and I'm holding on to it for dear life. Not going to open the tray. Just going to record the message and pray it plays at least once when it gets to Grandpa. I don't feel confident in this product and I'm glad I didn't waste a lot of time decorating the cover just to have it stop working.

We spent quite a bit of time decorating the "card" to send to our Granddaughter. When it can time to record - there was no battery power! No red light! We checked the second card. The recording light came on once - and only once. So we have 2 new useless cards and one of them was personalized.I am amending my review. Amazon treated me right and allowed me to return the defective cards and get replacements. The new cards work exactly as advertised! I would have given it 3 stars because the recording quality is not great but since the do indeed work well - 4 stars is fair.

I needed to embed my own audio message into a greeting card. This is the closest thing to what I needed that I could find. It says on the package "Long-life lithium battery that's easy to replace......". It does not have a lithium battery (cell), but actually contains three LR1130 alkaline cells. Apparently, the design was changed and the packaging was updated because because there is also a blue circle that says, "Operates on three L1131 coin batteries." Fortunately, there are two of the items in the package because when I removed the battery holder from the first one to examine the batteries, one of the wires was caught inside and it stretched until it broke. The wire is not easily repairable because the entire thing is glued together. So I paid for two, but ended up with one good one.  PictureThatSound Any Occasion Recordable Card, Set of 2

THIS SET came with two recordable cards. A card will allow you to record about 20 seconds of sound. We recorded several times before we were satsfied, with no loss in quality. Pulled off the tab cover when done, to disable the re- record feature, although it could be put back on. It was bigger than we thought it would be, but it worked. We used it to record the intro to phantom of the opera, and attached it to the bottom of a handcrafted. phantom of the opera tribute trophy, The sound was great, and really carried-it was the finishing touch that the trophy needed. Would buy again without hesitation.

I purchased these to use for a retirement gift from our team to a co-worker. Using Photoshop, I created a photo collage, and included a "push here" circle where the play button was. We recorded a message as a group, that included an inside jokethat is sure to remind our coworker of us for years to come. After printing the photo and aligning it to the card, I used double sided photo tape to secure the photo over the card. I then purchased one of those photo frames with a large matting designed for signatures, and everyone signed it. We left the glass off so he could still hit the play button. Everyone loved the finished result, most importantly our coworker who was the recipient!

We used this on my daughter's science fair project board, replacing a homemade cobbled together version from a sound card picked up at Hallmark. That did not last! This one was perfect. It's very sturdy--about 1/4-inch thick, and the working parts are all very protected inside. The sound quality is not bad at all, which was important as her project was focused on sound. It held up well and still plays 6 months later.

I chose four because it met my expectations considerably. I know it isn't some glorific hallmark brand but the sound is good, and i just drew a cover for it, and my friend loved it. It is pretty cheap and you get TWO out of this! So yeah, get it if you are looking for a casual card with good recording sound.

The cards are a lot bigger than I thought they would be. I ended up not using them for what I had purchased them for but I also purchased this brand for the length of time. These record-able card have more record-able minutes than others that I'd looked at. I'm OK with the purchase.
