Authentically Awesome
You can tell by the time you reach 1:38 in "Maybe I'm Just Tired", this is a special kind of band--one that transcends previous record heights, and does post-rock, ind-progressive music "right". And by 03:10 the deal is sealed--the ecstasy is fully engulfing you! The kind of band that makes you proud to be a member of the current generation yet not a cardboard cutout of the latest trend--just into good music . As the line "I know I'm not good enough...I know I'm not good enough for you...." flows, and the drums make their slow crescendo...the entire emotional impact hits and it is shiver inducing. This will make some people tick and others not, you cannot really say who it will be.Fans of instrumental mastery will be satisfied here too. Each member is a true artist with heaps of taste and prowess. All builds and breakdowns are performed with expert precision AND emotion.Yet what ties it all together is the lead singer's authentic, strong voice. It is not bound by conventional rules and seems to flow directly from the soul. This is the type of album you can sit and read along with the words and really get something out of it.4/5 because there are other bands out there doing similar stuff. I reserve 5/5 for excellent bands who have little or no competition in their genre. As Tall as Lions has in some ways the MOST competition--that in the indie, power pop category. To make a good album in this genre has proven to be very difficult, and these guys have made a solid effort. Comaprisons will be made to Muse, Jeff Buckley, and Radiohead...which are valid but don't really capture the modern feel of this very tight band. Worth checking out in my opinion~!

Good stuff all the way around
I was first introduced to this band with the most recent disc, "You Can't Take It With You" and decided I need more. I don't often do that but these guys are a pretty interesting blend of rock that seems to bleed through the edges of other genres while making their music entirely their own. Few bands do that. If you asked me what does ATAL sound like, I'd say ATAL. This album drives through some great songs that I am just now getting fully familiarized with. It's an album that has caused me to want to listen to it repeatedly though which is great, worth the money for sure. If you are looking for something different but that also hits most of the points of "regular genre music" this is a cool band for sure. With an indie twist they bring it to you in a cool, smart, and incredibly music style. Check them out.

Blown Away
Decided to buy this album after hearing Ghost of York on Pandora radio and sampling the rest of the album. I had high expectations but was completely blown away. I'm generally not a fan of pop or mainstream music (not to say that this falls strictly in line with either classification) but found this album to be widely varying in sounds, melodies and layers. Each song brilliantly transitions to the next, so much so that by the end of the album you're left wondering how it all happened so fast. I would list favorite tracks but that would be an injustice to the whole of the album. I will be buying all of their other work, but now, no sampling necessary. Fully confident in this band. New Favorite!

Fantastic album
One of the most solid albums I own; very moving and evocative. If you own their other albums but you don't have this one, you're missing out!

Easily forgettable
There are a small handfull of songs on this cd which are worth listening to. However, the rest sound like different renditions of the same song. Unless you are making a mixed tape/cd for your girlfriend and want some really sentimential tracks, this cd is quite bland as a whole.

Adoro
Uno degli album più belli nella mia bacheca. Non mi stanco mai. Bella voce, suoni da brividi, bei testi, intimi, delicati e poetici. Aggressivi o dolci dove serve, peccato si siano sciolti.
