Nicknamed "Spinning Wheel of Death" to the kids ...
A very good product that works as advertised. Very easy to use and adjust. I found that if I vary the way I feed the ball to the wheel it slightly varies the location of the pitches, which is very helpful. Similarly, if I am consistent about feeding the ball into the machine, the pitch is consistent. The device need readjustment between 10 and 30 pitches, usually a very slight movement back to the right. The device has saved a lot of wear and tear on my arm, and a lot of aggravation as the pitches are consistently good. The device seems to be made of good quality steel, although I have already damaged one of the plastic adjustment clamps when it fell from my car to the ground. I'll use a wrench until I get that part replaced. One thing to point out, and the reason I give this four stars instead of five, is that the wheel is not protected, and is VERY dangerous. I have to be very careful working around it, and tell the kids to stay away from the machine while the wheel is spinning. To emphasize the point, I call the pitching machine the "Spinning Wheel of Death." If one were to accidentally come into contact with the wheel, during adjustment, or while bending down or over to pick up a ball, a VERY bad friction burn could result. Also, I believe that if the machine were knocked over while the machine was in operation it would take off uncontrolled until it unplugged itself. (There may be an internal gyroscope cut off switch for all I know though.) I believe this could be somewhat mitigated with a fender or some other device around the outside of the wheel. I'm not sure how this would affect the weight or cost of the device though, but the manufacturer probably had good reasons for not including this safety feature. All the same, if one observes the same safety procedures one would use while working with, say a lathe or a wood chipper, the threat to people and property can be minimized, and it will no doubt provide years of good service.

Decent machine.
Quieter and lighter jugs. Takes some time getting to throw consistent. Once you lock in it is pretty accurate. Would be better if speed setting read out in MPH instead of 1-7.

Good Product
Added this with our new First Pitch Pitching machine (also bought on Amazon). At first we tried to use regular balls in the feeder and it wasn't working well at all. The balls would drop down from the feeder and not catch into the machine, they would just spin. So if you think you can use the feeder with regular balls, you can't. We ended up buying some Jugs Pitching Machine balls and that fixed the whole problem. They come through with no problem. The only other minor thing is the time between each pitch is a little long. It is about 10 seconds between balls, seems a little long. I wish there was a speed adjustment for that.I love the addition to the pitching machine, makes it easy for one person to go and hit by themselves. Plenty of time to load the feeder and walk back and get ready for the first pitch. It is good that it will handle all kinds of balls (12" softball, 11" softball, and baseballs). My kids use it for baseball, my niece uses it for fast pitch softball, and I use it for adult softball. I would recommend to anybody.

Nice hitting machine for batting cages
My fourteen year old grandson wanted a pitching machine for a 50x12x12 batting cage. This product works well. We set it up so the pitches are around 60mph. You have to put in one ball at a time but that is ok.We cover it up when not in use. It does require power so you have to plug it in somewhere. We do have a protective L-screen in front of it to protect whoever puts the balls in.

Great Machine
I have used this machine all summer for my travel team's practices. It works great and can even be used for flyballs.UPDATE JAN 2013:Still using this machine and it is working great. We use it at least once a week and the accuracy of this machine compared to our other machine (blue jugs) is much better and a lot more consistent.UPDATE DEC 2013:Used the machine all summer and still using the machine indoors for our travel team and it's working great.UPDATE Feb 2016:Ok, still using the machine. I coached a 16U travel team last season and took this everywhere. I will run it off my 1000w generator when there are no outlets. Just last night I sanded the wheel and ordered another 2 dozen Jugs Sting Free balls (got 4 yrs out of my last batch and will now just use those for flyball drills). Also, the company has great service as I broke the on/off toggle switch and they sent me a new one for $11 that I received within 4 days. Looking forward to wamer weather so we can get back outside now with my 12U team. Let's hope I get another 4 years out of this machine.

Good Quality at a rock bottom Price
Would highly reccomend this machine! Do not, however, put real balls in it. It pitches dimple balls great, but real balls fly all over the place. My DD is 13 and I use this for her 14U practices. Pitches fast enough that it will last her until college.**UPDATE** I've now had this machine for almost 3 years. Daughter now plays 18U club ball. As for real balls, the only ones I have found that work well in this machine are the Baden ballistic pitching machine balls. Still a great machine after all these years.I had a girl hit a line drive right back at the machine. Ball hit the cord just right and ripped the wires free from the motherboard inside. Called Firstpitch and had a wiring diagram sent to me with no questions asked. Superior customer service! They will also repair the machine with free labor if there ever is an issue, parts are at cost. I could not recommend this machine and this company more highly.
