It is a good reference book for information on the Eastern Church
I purchased this for a class, but we didn't use it very much. I plan to "get into it" on my own, now that the class is over. It was expensive, as books go, so I had hoped we would use it more than we did. It is a good reference book for information on the Eastern Church.The book itself arrived fairly quickly, but was in need of repair on the spine before I could use it.

An extensive and elaborate description of the rites of the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches.Very important and necessary for the Orthodox faithful!

a classic and standard
We have owned this title for many years--over 30. It explains services, both actions and significance, diagrams vestments and names the items, gives, background, history and serves as an excellent source when there are questions or something not often used comes up. We continue to use this book as a reference.Highly recommend for all Orthodox Christians.

Good work, shame about the typeface
Very good and concise work, a little more explanation in places would help, but overall a book well worth it for the content and context of the subject.HOWEVER and big however - it is not the book that fails, but the quality of the typeface print - it is like a poor photocopy with a the text font being akin to a greyscale low resolution typeface and so the text is not crisp and takes getting used to, I find it off-putting, others may not find it such a problem, but after a short time my eyes find it a strain.Value for money - this is a good work, hindered by poor quality printing and so other works do exist which I would suggest offer a better value for money that the current price of this book.so 2 stars for the quality of the typefaceand 4 stars for the work its selfall-round 3 stars
