It will not hold on to a tablet. I used a 7, 8, and 10" tablet and no matter what I tried it would not secure the tablet to the holder. The mic arm thing is only 10" long or so and doesn't provide any options for the placement of the tablet because it is so short and doesn't bend at all. The clamp is very strong and can certainly hold the weight.
