Just to be clear, this does NOT Upscale the picture from its original 480p to anything higher. It does not "convet" the image to a higher resolution. What it merely does is it sends out the original 480p resolution through a 1080p signal. But you'll still get the old, crappy, fuzzy, muted colors that you'd get with the original composite RCA cables. ONE key difference is that, since it's digitizing the image, it's cleaning up noise that you may get from old, faulty RCA cables. So, if you're seeing image quality reduction from your red, white, and yellow cables, this will improve upon that. But again, it won't upscale the original image.This is not a negative or a positive. I just wanted to clear it up for those claiming that this upscales the image, and that you're going to make a 1080p image out of a 480p original signal. That won't happen.Secondly, one negative I DO want to point out: This is a "always plugged in/always on" converter. So, if you're going to habitually play your Dreamcast, you'll want to keep the power plugged in all the time, but the downside is that that's like leaving a Iron, on all the time. The converter will get hot, and it is drawing power continuously. The signal is on, if you go to the Input Channel on your TV.And if you want to unplug it, you'll have to plug it back in every time you want to play. A very small nuisance, but a nuisance nonetheless.Aside from that , this does what it simply claims - it outputs the Dreamcast signal as HMDI. Simple.The 19:9/3:4 button is nice. But since Dreamcast is not meant to be played at 16:9, it's kind of a moot point.It's a good device if you don't have a TV that has Composite outputs, or if you want to play your Dreamcast on a Display that only has HMDI.But if you're looking for a Signal Up-scaler, this isn't it.

It's Not a VGA to HDMI Output but Composite 480i out put so the image is not sharp but still better than hooking to your Composite inputs on your HD TV. I guess for the money and if you are not real picky about image quality it's not bad, it does have one advantage, it's compatible with games that don't run on VGA including the ones that you can't even get to run properly by doing the cable switch or video out put mode switch where you start in TV or composite mode and then when the SEGA Logo pops up switch to VGA, so games like Hydro Thunder won't get that glitching and blanking flashing screen problem. The Kaico - Sega Dreamcast VGA Cable to Dreamcast HDMI isa much better solution and even The newest POUND Cable is better than this Sega Dreamcast to HDMI Converter.

The sound and picture quality is amazing on my 65" tv! Im surprised at how good the Dreamcast picture looks! I bought one for the n64 and the ps2 a while back and though the graphics for the N64 arent 100% clear and perfect, its best youre going to get for the n64. The best youre going to get is if they revamp your fave game. These hdmi cables are awesome and id recommend if you wanna stick to your old console with a new tv. A bonus is theres no lagging with a new tv when you get the hdmi cable!

This HDMI connector is exactly what I had been needing to be able to play all my favorite Dreamcast games again. It is a simple plug and play connector. You’ll be enjoying your games again in no time. I’m truly grateful that I found this.

Works for every title I've tried. For the price it's great but it's not a VGA adapter so quality is worse than more expensive versions. The benefit to this is the VGA incompatible titles will work fine. Screen ratio switch is very nice to have.

Great HDMI converter cable for the Dreamcast. The only negative is it needs it's own power supply so it has to be plugged into an outlet to work. Otherwise, works just fine and offers great value for the money.

As advertised. Played some favorites that I haven't played in years. Some games would not play/show video.
