THIS WORKS PERFECT!!
THIS WORKS PERFECT!!! The bed alarm AND the RESET BUTTON on the box work great. EASY RESET button. The bed alarm pad is very, very, very loud. Has two settings, music and noise. We chose music, it may sound odd but the "It's a Small World" works great since it is enough to have the person lay back down to have the noise stop without - having it on the setting of beeping - although someone of hard of hearing that setting would work perfect. This is a bed alarm pad and reset button box I would order for someone again if they needed one. PERFECT.

This works great! the only thing i would change is the volume adjustment - even on low it is really loud - but i have to say it is effective at reminding mom not to get up without assistance.

Part came in damaged and product doesn't work...
Unfortunately mom had another fall and I had to finally connect the bed alarm. However, when I opened it to install it it didn't work. There is also a noise inside like a piece of something is broke. So a total waste of money and mom is still unsafe. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone through this company!

A Hip Saved by the Alarm
The Bed sensor pad has saved my Mother from being on the floor and from the chance of another hip fracture at least 12 times since we put this on her Bed. I did have to hide the cord to the alarm box as she was turning the alarm off and getting up, that was when I found her on the floor, no injury she got. The alarm does not scare my Mother and her Alzheimer's is far enough along she doesn't realize where the alarm comes from at times, it has really been a life saver and I can sleep more knowing the alarm will wake me up if she tries to get up. I would get it for any parent you need to keep up with.

It'll work, but you have to go through a period of frustration.
I realized one thing about the bed alarm business. They're not made to last - that's not important. Why? In the hospital, these are one-time use and are thrown away. You don't re-use it on another patient for infection control. It's not sanitary. Therefore, even buying these for home use, the elderly person is probably not expected to be living another 2-3 years. All that said, like many reviewers here complain, this thing functioned like it was supposed for approximately a week. From there, it went haywire, not sounding when the person got up, going off an all hours of the night when the person wasn't moving at all, and constantly needing a FRESH battery. I was absolutely ready to toss this thing in the trash when I decided to try one last resort. The instructions tell you to position the pad under the person's shoulder, just below the pillow. Not a good idea because for some reason, the sensor pad is way too sensitive and will go off when the person is still. I moved it down to the lower back and it is now functioning correctly.

Great idea, needs tweaking to be effective for mobile patients and their caregivers
This product works as advertised, but is not ideal for an invalid adult who nonetheless has a fair amount of mobility, particularly if s/he is small or relatively lightweight. (My mom is about 5'4" and 90 lbs.) Because the alarm is triggered by the patient's body weight being lifted off it, and because the sensor pad is quite small compared to the size of a twin bed (@17" by 10"), false alarms can occur whenever the patient tosses and turns, sits up in bed, shifts her weight, or even rolls over. The device would be much less prone to false alarms if the sensor pad were the size of a pillowcase, say, or a Chux pad.The alarm itself is incredibly loud, which is good in terms of getting a caregiver's attention, but potentially very disturbing to a patient - especially those with dementia or any nervous disorder exacerbated by disturbing loud noises. Some of this disturbance can be mitigated by placing the alarm at some distance from the patient, but the cord attaching the sensor pad to the alarm is only a few feet long - too short to permit the alarm to be more than 3-4 feet from the patient's torso while the sensor pad is in place on the bed. My electronically skilled husband rigged up an extension of the cord so that our alarm is near the door to my mom's room, but a caregiver without that skill set would be faced with either constantly calming an upset patient, or discontinuing use of the product.Positive factors: clip/bracket on alarm unit allows easy attachment to multiple surfaces including wall, bed rail, door latch, or furniture. Batteries powering the alarm last much longer than stated - we've had it for a couple months and have not needed to replace them. Choice of musical alert or blaring alarm is appreciated.Negatives factors: we only use it in a pinch, because usually when it goes off, it's from my mom simply sitting up or moving around in bed - not trying to "escape". Nor, after the first few alarms, has it seemed to act as a deterrent – it certainly gets OUR attention when it goes off, but to her it's simply another mystifying annoyance she has to endure in order to do what she wants to do, whether that is simply shifting to a more comfortable position in bed, reaching for a glass of water on the side table, or making a full break over the bedrails and out of the room.

It is easy to put into use and works well
The bed alarm arrived quickly. It is easy to put into use and works well. Really helps us reduce the fear our loved one will get up unaided and fall.

Works great for my mother. If she tries to get up the music goes off! And I love Disney!Would be nice if the flashing light was a little larger and the on off switch also.
