The added percussion is nice, but what separates this album from previous efforts is the cohesive sound of the band, something Stanley has repeatedly attributed to the virtuosity of Michael Gizmondi on bass. The next thing that jumps out at you are the background vocals of Kevin Raleigh. Hired as an extra keyboard player, it didn't take long to figure out he was much more than that. ""Last Night"" was the only song ever co-written by Raleigh/Stanley, and Kevin made major writing contributions with ""Promises"" and ""Hold Your Fire"". ""Beautiful Lies"", ""We're Not Strangers Anymore"" and ""Lights Out"" further established the song writing team of Stanley/Pelander. A cover of the Supremes' classic ""Back In My Arms Again"" features a great sax solo from Mr. Gizmondi, as does Stanley's ""Down To The Wire"". It was produced by Harry Maslin, who had just finished David Bowie's ""Young Americans"" album.

Excellent Album - Unfairly Maligned...even by Stanley Himself
I really love the songwriting and production on this album. Can't understand why Stanley (and I believe Pelander also) called this the "Bells from Hell" album. Yes, the keyboards, synthesizers and bells are brightly on display, but that just makes this album fun. And just about every song is a keeper. Unfortunately, stuck between the ground breaking, John Mutt Lang produced "Cabin Fever" and the smash hit "Heartland", this one tends to get lost. It shouldn't. "Promises" and "Don't Lead with Your Love" are two of the best, most tuneful songs MSB has every recorded.

One of my favorites
Drawing from memories of half a life ago, I've always loved this album. This, Fourth and Ten, and You can't fight Fashion are 3 of MSB's best. Age has dulled the luster of many songs from that age, but I can still listen to this completely. This was one of those few albums like Meatloaf's and Boston's first albums where every cut was memorable and you couldn't skip over.

Rocking. Songs like Last Night and the best love ballad Beautiful Lies
Last Night- made me wake up wanting you...Back in my arms again- better version of the 60's song. These songs are in the lovers mode .BEAUTIFUL LIES - his romantic ballad about a girl of the night. By far one of his top 5 songs. Down to the wire -and a guy looking for his girl for the night.Lights out ...ROCKS .Dont Lead With Your Love and We 're Not Strangers Anymore. More greats love songs .
