The Damage Is Done"" and ""Someone Like You"" are fine contributions by Kevin Raleigh, and the team of Stanley/Pelander is represented by ""Just Give Me Tonight"" and ""High Life,"" both of which feature excellent sax from Rick Bell. The star of the album though, is ""My Town,"" Stanley's hometown anthem, which gave birth to more than 100 city specific versions. The album was produced by MSB and Bob Clearmountain. The second half of 1983 would be both a high point and low point for MSB. ""My Town"" would enter the ""Billboard Top 40"" and the band made TV appearances on both ""Solid Gold"" and ""American Bandstand"" with Dick Clark. Everything seemed to be going great, until, as their record contract was nearing an end, EMI only offered a six-month extension, instead of a long-term deal with some financial security. When Stanley turned down the extension, hoping for another offer, the record company ""called his bluff"" and dropped the band immediately, pulling all financial and tour support. The band vowed to carry on, but to make matters worse, after what would be the band's final performance at the Richfield Coliseum on December 27th, 1983, sax player Rick Bell left the band.

Music from the Heartland
Major point I like is that this album gave the band it's second Top 40 single, if only for one week.Major downside is that upon this album's original release in 1983, it only had nine tracks, when previous releases had 10 or more.Overall, a good final album for the band at EMI AMERICA.

"Someone Like You" says it all....
Another great album as the band was changing. My favorite track is "Someone Like You" by Kevin Raleigh. Raleigh's vocals another voice of expression. This band reflected a time when an album was a concept and not just about the hit single like it is in today's music business. This band knew how to go into the studio, record a concept album, that not only reflected the times and lives of Stanley and his band mates but what the current events and times were for the people of the Cleveland, Ohio area. Since the band did not truly explode into the American mainstream, they still remain unknown to people outside of the Midwest. I remember listening to "This Town" before a lot of Cleveland Browns games. If your new to the music from this time, its a great place to start. It's an upbeat album compared to earlier releases.I hope you enjoy this album and the starting of a new time for this band.

Great album
I first hear this album when I was in high school. As music often does for anyone, it brought back memories when I purchased it on Compact disc. The Michael Stanley Band is excellent, blue-collar, working man's rock n' roll music.
