This Girl Can Sang!!!
At first, I didn't have any intentions on purchasing this CD because I didn't know about it (I don't really listen to the radio so I hadn't heard a single that would alert me to her new CD). I was talking with someone about how amazing Jill Scott's CD is, "Light Of The Sun," and he mentioned Kelly Price and how great her CD is. So I had to buy it and I was not disappointed. As usual, Kelly brings the AMAZING vocals on each track. I love the flow of it and I can listen to the whole CD without skipping around. It's unusual to find a CD that I can simply play without skipping over certain tracks. I am simply excited about this CD because I love to find new music that I can enjoy. All in all, get the CD!1. "Tired" - This song brings a mix of great vocals and dramatic music arrangements. It's an altogether great way to kick off the CD and bares a great level of excitement of what's to come.2. "And You Don't Stop" - A fun song with and ol skool party beat.3. "Not My Daddy" - This is her single which features Stokley (the lead singer of Mint Condition). Awesome combination! This song is another reason I purchased her album. I just love this song and my favorite part is the hook...great key changes and vocal arrangements.4. "Himaholic" - The song lyrics are creative and innovative. I like how the track is set up...as though she's in an AA meeting but instead of being addicted to alcohol, she's a "himaholic." It's a very cute song and great track.5. "I'm Sorry" - An anthem to every person who has made a mistake and needs to get themselves back on track. The song is an apology to her.6. "The Rain" - This is one of my favorites on the CD. The vocals are top notch and the track is a mix between a ballad and R&B.7. "Vexed" - This is one of my friends' absolute favorite tracks on the CD. It's a fast-paced song that's fun and energetic.8. "Speechless" - Another favorite of mine. It's a catchy song that will have you singing the lyrics after you hear it. I love the overall arrangement.9. "Feels So Good" - This song takes after its title because it's a feel-good song. You know those songs you listen to that just puts you in a good mood? Well this is it.10. "You Don't Have To Worry" - A classic R&B track...taking it back to the basics.11. "Lil Sumn-Sumn" - When I heard this song, all I could say is, "Girl, I understand how you feel!" Lol. Good writing and as usual, great singing.12. "Get Right Or Get Left" - INSTANT ATTRACTION! Great way to close out the CD! She cut up on this song and that's all I have to say!

Kelly is a singers, singer.
I love Kelly Price's voice, she has an enormous vocal gift! I see her as generation X's equivalent to Aretha Franklin. I have acquired most all her solo projects, and as well some of her vocal backgrounding collaborations throughout her years in the industry. This particular project is interesting, her vocal abilities are apparent! Yet it may just well be the writing, and subject matter of the entire project that I cannot currently relate to. It's like Aretha Franklin's younger years before she went to Atlantic Records and began her stint there under the direction of legendary Jerry Wexler, for it's there Aretha Struck the iron hot to truely showcase her talents. I'm hoping that she'll find that right producer, and record lable who get's her, understands, and respects her talent, and creativity knowing how to mix it all together for that soulful universal appeal. I'd like to see Clive Davis, Gamble & Huff, and more seasoned producers even Burt Bacarach & Carol Seger veteran producers see what gems or nuggetts they can contribute to further developing, and further maturing Kelly Price's soulful sound, & style of singing. The best cut off this project for me was the track, and song entitled "Tired". Mind you the rest of this project wasn't weak, nor bad at all either. With a singer like kelly however; it never hurts to have more skillfulled lyricist, with excellent producers expressing a wider subjected scope matter of life's truest, & relateable emotions, about the human condition.

Good R&B is BACK
I have to say that this album was highly anticipated by this woman *points at self* and it has definitely lived up to my expectations. From start to finish this album is an instant classic and a MUST have in your collection for any music enthusiast. The production is AMAZING and Kelly is telling a wonderful story with her lyrics. Kelly Price is sanging her face OFF. Just when you thought she couldn't sound any better, umm yeah, she does that and more. "Intervention" is not only a groovy tune BUT a very important message to women in abusive relationships. Clever to put the hotline number in the hook. I love it! "Himaholic" is surely going to be an anthem but its just saying the things that has been on the minds of anyone who has been in love with someone. "Feels So Good" is just that... it feels good when riding in the car with the windows down on a lovely LA day. The strings in "And You Don't Stop" are crazy awesome! This album gives you just enough to have you wanting more but satisfied with the quality of the project. My Block Records is on to something here... Bringing people, not just music, but GREAT music again. Thanks. Cop this RecordG.

Power vocalist + OK material = Average results.
I love Kelly Price mostly because she belts her music out, writes most of her own tunes alone or with other writers and because her music is generally rooted in R&B. This disc is OK. It has standout tracks like "Tired", "And You Don't Stop" (old-school 80's feel), "Not My Daddy" featuring Stokley Williams of Mint Condition, "Lil' Sumn-Sumn" and "Get Right Or Get Left". However, very few of the tracks have that classic Kelly feel where the tune is as beautiful as it is catchy. Some of it just feels like it's R&B of 2011, which it is, but it ends up not really worthy of repeated listens. I will listen to this album again in the future but I don't think she brought it with this one. It's like she lost a lot of the fire she had during her first two albums. If I remember correctly, some of the material even sounds a bit too same-y.All in all, solid but not outstanding. Vocals still shine though.3.5 stars.DOWNLOAD:"Tired""Not My Daddy" &"And You Don't Stop"
