KGS Boot Guard Black Toe Protector

This stuff is tough!! I had already tried the tough toes on my Redwings I wasnt ready to give up, alas it began peeling and looked silly. I then decided to try this stuff and it worked great. I peeled off the tough toes product, and I was diligent to clean and sand the toe box, and then thoroughly mixed this product before applying. I masked off the area and painted on two coats, approximately 10 hours before each coat. It was still pretty tacky after 10 hours and the second coat took at least 24 hours to dry, so expect this to be a 48 hour process. Ended up looking great, even kept my welt exposed so its just a neat tough toe cap right where I needed it. I have been wearing them 40 hours a week for a few months now and they are holding up great. The rubber will scrape gradually from abrasions, but it is truly embedded in the leather so its not going anywhere. Put it on thick and you will be fine.

I put this product on exactly the way they instructed me too except I let it sit for the weekend instead of overnight. By lunch time Monday morning I already had it rub off of both boots exposing my boot. I wrote the company a week ago about my issue asking for any sort of discount for me to buy it and trying again and no response as of now. Which I don’t think is asking too much. So I am going to try a different product I guess... The toe protectors work great and I recommend them way over this product as long as your boots are round toe and they are cheaper than this product...... long story short don’t waste your money!!!!

If this would have held up as it said it does i would giving it five stars unfortunately it did not, started peeling on second day. I work as a tile installer and drag the toes of my boots while installing tile so I wanted something tough to protect them and this did not hold up to the beating even after I specifically followed every step on how to prep the boots and apply the guard.

This is my 2nd time using this product. The first time was a pair of boots that I ripped the toe cap on…it ruined the waterproofing. I applied 2 coats and it worked, and held up for a year! I just did 2 coats on 3 pair of boots and had a little remaining from one jar. I’ll apply this to every pair of boots I’ll ever have.

With proper preparation and following instructions this product saved the leather on my boots. Enough to cover several boots with several layers. This is some tough stuff. Not impressed with crap leather on Wolverine boots that peeled, chipped, and scratched easy. Fixed! Steel toe work boots with lots of beating all torn up from hard use. Fixed!

I am more than happy with this stuff. Great coverage. Excellent durability. All around sturdy.Application was a bit messy. But worth it.I was able to coat two pairs of work boots with as bit left over. Probably could have covered another with at least one coat.

Put this stuff on my boots a few weeks are and it's almost warn thru as of now. Would definitely recommend going with tuff toe. It's a way better product.

Product works as expected. Bonds well to even oil soaked boots after scratching leather not a pretty repair but it works.
