100% cotton large thick tradional hand made tasseled rug from India. FAIRTRADE - BAFTS, This supplier employs 125 people, 15 work in the factory for the inspection, finishing and packing of orders. The rest are weavers who weave the rugs in their own home, which is traditional in India. Both men and women are employed. The rugs are woven with recycled cotton rags which the supplier collects from many places and some are enhanced with the addition of natural hand-spun jute. In addition to statutory wage, the supplier provides bonus and gifts on DEWALI festival - this is in the month of September. In the local community they run a primary school which provides free education for children. The owner is very honest & straightforward and aims to always supply products of good quality.
