Bare Ware Three Layer Stainless Steel Lunch Box Set - Eco Friendly Food Container Bento with Tray - For Adults and Kids

EDIT:I changed the rating from 5 stars to 3. After 4 uses, the metal started to change colors from the food, and is a little too flimsy. Almost feels plated. I have about 10 other storage stainless containers from lifewithoutplastic.com which are top notch, these are less quality.I love the idea of stainless bentos, and from our first purchase of the lunchbots 5 compartment we have bought several. The second one we bought was this bare ware container. My husband uses these two containers for lunch during a 12 hour shift. At the bottom he can put a burger patty and some vegetables, in the middle usually half of an Ezekiel pb sandwich and two boiled eggs cut in half. At the stop, chunks of cheddar and a few squares of some homemade granola or nuts. The smaller lunch bot can fit all of that minus the half pb sandwich, but has the added benefit of not squishing everything down flat. We like both containers, though my husband prefers the lunchbot. Both are useful for one person, and I'd imagine this bare ware container is better for meals, the lunchbot better for items you don't mind quartering, or snacks. This container is polished stainless, which tends to look more chrome than steel, but so be it. We find brushed stainless easier to keep looking clean, but that does not affect performance in any way. The latches on this container are snug enough, just right. For myself and my two kids I have bought a larger zebra 3 tier 16cm tiffin for outings and takeout which is big enough for us. This is suitable for one person. And it is a good product. The steel is thinner than the lunchbots, but we don't have any problems with that. It does make it lighter, and that is a plus.

We have used this three times. The clamps are a challenge to open, but I feel that they are beginning to "break in" even after just a few uses. I am hoping that the clamps become easier to use because I would like to get more of the Bare Ware for my children's lunches. With the clamps as tight as they are currently, only my husband could realistically use this for his lunch. We put all the pieces into the dishwasher each time and I love that.The bottom and center trays are roughly the same size and could hold a sandwich each. I put some cashews and Chex mix in the topmost tiny tray, but spilled them because of the tight clamp. The size and set up is perfect though and would let me effectively eliminate plastic baggies and hand washing all those crumby plastic sandwich boxes. It fits nicely into all our lunch boxes and it seems we all have a different shaped lunchbox. If the clamps loosen up, this would be a 5+ star for me and I would be getting more.

Wow! With three layers inside this lunch box you can keep your salad, sandwich, fruit chew etc all separate! I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this up and discovered the different layers. Of course if you like a stack of sandwiches then you are going to have to use both bottom layers.Cons: You have to use at least the two large compartments in order to secure the box which means that you cannot use this lunchbox to put in a stack of sandwiches.Pros: Easy to clean, all stainless steel, hard wearing, compact.When put together the lunch box measures in at approximately 6 3/4" x 4 5/8" x 3 1/4" high. The bottom and middle trays are 1 3/4" deep, the top one 3/4".Would we recommend this to others? Yes, depending on their size of appetite! Will we use this ourselves? Yes! Does what it says it does. The product and the customer service are excellent!! After a lot of research and spending quite a few bucks buying all kinds of lunch boxes, I have finally found the right one! It's stainless steel, so no fear of BPA. Even with the claim of BPA free plastic, I have been wary of using those for my kids. At a price which is comparable to buying plastic containers of similar design, I see much better value for my money given that I am getting something that will certainly last longer. This product is made with the highest quality stainless steel, the clamps attach beautifully, no need for any rubber band. The bottom two containers are big enough to hold two sandwiches made with 2 slices of bread each. My middle schooler son finds the food enough for his growing appetite. I have even given him warm food and he has reported that the food is warm even after 5 hours of packing it inside an insulated lunch bag. I believe this is good even for an adult. And the best thing, it is dishwasher safe! Very happy with the product!

When I first got this lunch box, I was concerned I wouldn't be able to fit enough food to satisfy an adult. I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised!In the bottom container, I was able to fit about a packed cup of spring mix salad (guesstimating that amount) and the bell pepper slices and 4 grape tomatoes; the second container held a small chicken wrap, and honestly could have held a few veggies if I worked with the wrap; the top tray held a perfect portion of fruit, though they have to be small or sliced small, and a slice of cheese. Totally a great lunch!I'm hoping I can find a small enough stainless or maybe silicone container for salad dressing to fit in the box, but that's honestly the one and only thing I couldn't fit. I'll be purchasing another to switch out so I don't have to wash every day. This is a perfect solution to those like me wanting to reduce the use of plastic with food as much as possible. So happy with this purchase!
