Going to be a Christmas gift but looks just fine

gave 2 as Christmas presents. plus 1 for myself. they are really fast as promest. Only weak spot I see is the small button the probe latches on

It work well and quickly. The long probe makes it easier to get reading in the smoker.

I'm really happy with this. I bought it to help me get the turkey perfect this year for thanksgiving and it didn't disappoint. I think it probably takes closer to 4 or 4.5 seconds to get a temperature reading, but it's a lot faster than my old digital probe and a lot cheaper than some of the other instant read thermometers. I've used it to quickly take temperatures for cookie dough, for chicken, even a quick read on an oven (I just held it in there for about 4 seconds with the door open) and it's been very accurate and pretty quick.

Used this thermometer 3 times already. So far, this has been very accurate when I was roasting a turkey, whole chickens and smoking a brisket. Impressed enough to get this thermometer for a family member. They are very happy/satisfied with device as well. With a magnet placed on this thermometer, I have this placed on my refrigerator so I will always know where it's at and access it easily.

Cheaply made. Seems abnormally bulky. It's super light, and I can tell there aren't a lot of things in the handle... so not sure why the design is so large. It is just a cheap thermometer. Don't expect anything more.
