Trio Dali has shown a remarkable balance between the impulsivenessof youth, superior technique, and the maturity acquired with the bestmasters Augustin Dumay, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, the ArtemisQuartet at Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth. The individualqualities of the three members enables them to take on sonatas just aseffectively as trios. This is the format adopted here in another summitof chamber music, Schubert s two piano trios and the two traditionalstumbling blocks for violinists, cellists, and pianists: the Arpeggioneand the Fantasy in C major. The Arpeggione, marvelously interpretedhere, is often played; the Fantasy, on the other hand, is discarded frommost recitals because of its difficulty.
