I just bought this in a shop out of town. In fact, I bought three and wish I had bought more, so am glad to see them here. When the case is zipped closed, it is definitely small enough for travel, purse, pocket, or pretty much anywhere. You just have to mind that you're not zipping bristles the wrong way, but that's easily done. Three of the brushes have tips at both ends maximizing options while minimizing space. The only thing it is missing is a lash comb. The brushes are nice and soft, much more so than the last "travel" brushes I had. Not sure why they are twice as much on the company website as here or in store. I love these and will be buying more, both for me and for gifts.
