Great fun to read
Mrs Brown has to leave the animals on her farm behind when she goes to town. Problem is that she is away for longer than anticipated. What will the animals do in the meantime? And what happens when Mrs Brown is back? It's a delight to find out in this great picture book in which a hilarious story is told with clever rhyming and bright watercolor illustrations. The style is very similar to other books by the same author such as "Fireman Small" and "Fireman Small - Fire Down Below".

Fun to read for all ages
My girls (ages 2 and 4) and I love this book and I bought this book especially for me, as I so enjoy reading it out loud to the girls. The illustrations are perfect and keep our attention on the page.

Bad Kindle version
Very badly implemented Kindle version. It feels like we are flipping thru badly formatted bitmaps on the Kindle HD. Better get the paper version...

Must have library addition
This book is the perfect children's book. I work at a preschool and have read hundreds of books over the years. This one is enchanting. The flow of the book is just right, very funny. Illustrations are a perfect match with the cadence of the story. If you want a book for your collection you must add this one

Mrs. Brown went to town
Loved this book. Pages didn't match text though. Still, great book. Childhood favorite of my boys. Great illustrations. Must have in a child's library.

Another winner from Wong Herbert Yee
I have been tired before. I have been so tired, I have fallen asleep in strange places and odd positions. But I have never been so tired that I could crawl into my bed without noticing that a cow, two pigs, three ducks, and a yak were crashed there after spending the day in my house. I can only assume that Mrs. Brown was still heavily medicated when she was released from the hospital on the day this story begins. I'm a little concerned about the quality of healthcare she receives in this town. That said, this book is a riot. The farm animals vote to move into Mrs. Brown's house - all but the mouse, who doesn't want any part of this terrible idea. My son was both appalled and delighted by what the animals get up to unsupervised.Yee is one of our favorite authors of children's picture books. I particularly love how skilled he is with language. He never forces a rhyme, and he's willing to let things almost-rhyme when it suits the story. That's appreciate by this mom who's read too many contorted verses in her eight-year mothering career.
