Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the R&B/Funk mavericks on one CD: Angel (1977) and Jass-Ay-Lay-Dee (1978). with their slinky horn powered grooves, impeccable musicianship and eye popping album covers the Ohio Players were among the top Funk bands of the '70s. Angel features the three hits - 'Body Vibes', 'O-H-I-O' and 'Merry Go Round'. The aggressive sweaty Funk Jass-Ay-Lay-Dee album features energetic offerings such as 'Dance (If Ya Wanta)', 'Sleepwalking' and the single 'Funk-O-Nots'.

The last truly great Ohio Players albums. Get these.
This is likely the last of what HAS TO be in your Ohio Players collection. The eighties were not kind to the sound and song inspiration for this band but thankfully they held strong at the very end of the seventies and dropped Angel and Jass-Ay-Lay-Dee. Both are equally funky as hell in the classic way you'd expect from one of the best funk band in history.

Two classic 70's Players Jamz on one Disc!!
The Ohio Players were at the top of their game when these two disc were released. "Angel" released in 1977 and "Jass-Ay-Lay-Dee"(Jazzy Lady) released in 78' are given the remastering treatment on this outing. These two classic albums combine for 14 thrilling tracks. 'Angel" produced two favorite radio hits "Merry Go Round" and the classic party chant "O-H-I-O" the album combines grooves and melodies with other popular tracks such as "Body Vibes" and "Faith". "Jass-Ay-Lay-Dee"(Jazzy Lady)is more Funk driven featuring "Time Slips Away/Shoot Yer Shot" at over 7 mins. and "Dance (If Ya Wanna)" at over 6 mins. the Funk&Horns really heats up on this Motha!!Great photos,Liner notes and a remastered sound make this collection a great bargain(especially when searching for single disc prices of these two disc). The Ohio Players should be in The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame!!(Odd how they have been locked out of this Hall based in "O-H-I-O"!!!)...write someone,ya!The Ohio Players get down hard and funky on these two classic 70's albums!

for OP fans
I've had the first 4 OP albums from Mercury on CD for 10-20 years, but I had to listen to my ancient LPs to enjoy these two albums. Now, with one purchase, I have them both on CD. And I'm not positive, but I think they are remasterd -- they sound as good as the Fire/SkinTight & Honey/Contradiction remasters. If your're a fan of Ohio Players this is a great deal.
