Purdy 140755200 Brush and Roller Spinner People complain that the jaws that hold a brush are very stiff and hard to insert a brush. True, but it needs a firm grip in order to keep the brush from flying off. I use a block of wood to open the jaws, making the insertion of the handle a little easier. Insert the block between the jaws and turn 45°. The block is about 1 1/8" x 7/8". You could use a larger block (1 1/4"), but it gets harder to turn. It works with standard size handles, but may be difficult to use with "fat" handles. There is a plastic piece on the puller end that holds the puller in place when not in use. Works ok, but can get in the way. It may break over time, but it is not essential to the function of the tool. Aside from the jaw issue, this tool works well. It flings dirt and liquid out of the bristles, leaving it almost dry. (Do it in a bucket or it will get all over your legs) It is essential for the proper care and cleaning of your good brushes. This tool, in combination with a wire brush, keeps your expensive brushes in almost new condition. There are no complicated internal workings to this tool. Occasional oiling may be needed if you let it get rusty, but I'm guessing this tool will last until I loose it. I would recommend this type of tool to anyone who wants to clean their brushes. I've seen them used for paint rollers effectively, but have not done it myself.

Works really well for cleaning rollers. Spin the roller inside a 5 gal bucket rinse, spin again and repeat until clear water comes off the roller. Easy and quick.

Saved me from having to buy multiple expensive brushes for a boat varnish job.

This is a well-made product that works exactly as intended. It gets brushes clean and dry very quickly, the materials and finishing are very good, and there are no problems with fabrication, metal finish, etc. so I think this will last for a long time. This is the best tool I know of for quickly drying brushes after cleaning.

Works very well getting water out of the roller. Works well, easy to use and tough. Pretty fun to use too. I wouldn't say this is a necessary item to have, but it sure does help. Did I mention fun to use?

This thing gets rollers and brushes dry FAST and it is fun to spin. Love it. You can get 1 or 2 days of drying done in 1 minute of spinning. I have all Purdy brushes, but it still takes effort to get them in to this. Wish I had a 2nd person to pull apart the jaws while I put the brush in. I plan to grind the brushes to more of a point so they go in easier. No problem with rollers - they are easy it put in. Removal is easy for both brushes and rollers. Due to this tool's firm grip, no brush or roller has flown out no matter how hard I spin it. Most home owners should get one of these unless they plan to hire someone to do all their painting.

Must have for any paint job. This cleans out the rollers and brushes with ease. Wish I had thought of it.

Has caused a major reduction in the amount of water wasted in cleaning rollers particularly, yes, you’ve got to remove a few pins to get the roller ready, but small effort for much easier cleans. Brushes are even easier - no need to soak and dry.
