Product Description Intensely grotesque and shocking as hell, Feed is a heavyweight thrill ride through the depths of depravity. A veteran of cyberporn investigations, Australian cop Philip Jackson is no stranger to the dangerous side of sexual fetishes. He may have found his sickest case yet when he discovers a sinister side to an American website devoted to fat-admiring men and obese women called "feeders" and "gainers." Could the man behind it all be force-feeding missing women to death? Tense, dark and deeply disturbing, director Brett Leonard (The Lawnmower Man, Virtuosity) takes the crime-thriller genre to a twisted, gut-wrenching new level. Review " I could not tear my eyes away from Feed , one of the sickest films I have ever seen. " --Anthony Timpone, Fangoria"A freakish, ferocious masterpiece of gleefully kinky, taboo-smashing obscenity." --Rue Morgue"Intense, gripping...will test you, challenge you, force you to pick up the phone and order a case of Slim Fast." --Ventura County Reporter"A freakish, ferocious masterpiece of gleefully kinky, taboo-smashing obscenity." --Rue Morgue"Intense, gripping...will test you, challenge you, force you to pick up the phone and order a case of Slim Fast." --Ventura County Reporter

Australian-made psychological thriller - Creepy and thought-provoking!
This movie reminded me of the classic, well-written psychological thriller. Being a writer, and more a reader than movie buff, I found the biggest redeeming quality of this would-be b-grade film was the exceptional exploration of the darker side of the human psyche and sexuality. Underlying themes: who is the actual villian, the guy who "loves" his women to death (with their desire and consent) or the cop after him who fears intimacy and takes it out on his woman by rejection, dominance and physical violence? Is their really a such thing as "normal" when dealing with human sexuality? This isn't just about men being perverts either, but also shows the female role in these types of weird, symbiotic relationships. This is also true with the opening scene of the a bust that goes down in Germany of a serial killer who feeds his male victims parts of their own flesh. The victim in this case keeps screaming how he wants to be "eaten" and pleads that its his choice. ***Sorry, not meant to be a spoiler, but its important to note the underlying psychology in this scene to understand the subtle undertones of the rest of the film. There is a bit of the stock cliche' of the genre, with "mommy-dearest" type flashbacks to childhood by both main characters. O'Loughlin, with his charm and irresistible smile, made one of the creepiest serial killers ever! He and Davenport, and the lovely Gabby Milgate as Deirdre, the "victim", had the acting chops to pull this one off, in spite of the obvious drawbacks of low budget, etc. Also of interest to O'loughlin fans, he is credited with a portion of the writing, idea concept and, I understand, months of research that culminated in "Feed". He also - per usual - does all his own stunts. And not to spoil again, but ladies, we do get to see all his real-life tatoos. Ahem. Yes, all...So, four stars from me, and a big kudos to the tiny Australian film industry for a very creepy thriller that continues to haunt the psyche long after the credits role. Kudos to Davenport and O'loughlin for taking the plunge on this one, at risk (particularly to O'loughlin) of spoiling the sexy, pin-up boy image. I'd like to see more of both these actors, and particularly O'Loughlin, in these types of thought-provoking, anti-hero roles.

FEED is Delicious!
After discovering Alex O'Loughlin on Moonlight last year I was so impressed I immediately began to collect his previous work. I bought FEED first, and it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Alex came up with the concept of "feeders and gainers" and did months of research on the subculture. He co-created, co-wrote, co-produced and starred in the film, and his portrayal of Michael Carter showcases this Australian actor's incredible talent. His American accent is impeccable, and I have never seen an actor capable of expressing so many different emotions without ever having to say a word. The entire cast is outstanding - Gabby Millgate plays Deirdre, Michael's "gainer". She is a comedic actress, and she and Alex play off of one another so well. One thing I love about FEED is that it is a psychological thriller, but there is so much humor in the movie as well. If you like a bit of comic relief in your dramas, FEED has plenty of it. Just listening to Michael's rants to Phillip, the cyper crime specialist (played by Patrick Thompson) who is the so-called protaganist of the film is a delight. Michael may be considered the "villian" of the story, but by the end of the movie, I was so taken with his character, I was cheering him on. If there was ever a character who would be considered an "anti-hero", Michael would be at the top of my list. Some of my favorite parts of FEED are in the extras on the DVD - the deleted scenes, interviews with Alex and the producer, etc. I would recommend that anyone watching this DVD for the first time watch the extras first, especially the interview with Alex, where he explains how he came up with the idea of "feeders and gainers" and how he brought it to film. The soundtrack is wonderful - I will never hear "Cherish" and "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" again without thinking of FEED, and seeing Michael's little dance to "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" is worth the price of the DVD all by itself.I am impressed by the fact that this movie was made in 28 days. It is realistic, thought provoking and highly entertaining. The Australian film industry is apparently small compared to the American industry, but in my opinion, they do amazing work. Since seeing FEED I have watched other movies that Alex made before coming to the US and other Australian films as well - they have incredible talent in all aspects of filmmaking. After watching FEED check out the alternate ending in the extras. I would love to see it used as the opening scene for a FEED 2.Buy FEED - you will be glad you did.

A bit like Marmite.
It's a horror film not a social commentary, though it addresses the issue of morality quite subtly with the internet and cyber crime at its centre.Briefly the film didn't work for me but may entertain some so who am I to spoil someone else's pleasure by slagging off the film. I did buy it back in the noughties and have only just decided to check it out.Good acting from Patrick Thompson, Alex O'Loghlin and an amazing Gabby Millgate as the gross 'gainer'.Of course loads of Australian accents but No English SubTitles on my Showbox dvd ---- if you need them the American Region 1 dvd has English subtitles.

Thought Provoking
This is a good film for anyone who enjoys cat and mouse drama, but as many others have said it is not for the faint hearted. Some of the scenes are sickly to say the least, however the story and script are excellent as they highlight a part of the "sex??" industry which has not been tackled before by neither film makers nor, surprisingly, any major documentary makers - at least I haven't seen any that are worth noting until this. It is obviously low budget, but well made none the less and Patrick Thompson and Alex O'loughlin give stellar performances especially in the scenes where they are together, delivering their complex lines with perfect timing. This film makes you think about what the concept of physical attractiveness really is and has sparked many a debate with my family and friends.

It's Worth Watching...
A film which 'captures' some peoples' behaviours today. Glamorises the 'world' of so-called feeders. A rather strange ending. It's actually quite sad seeing how people choose to spend their life. A film which picks up on something which is occurring today rather than something completely unrealistic. This alone caused the film to have more of an impact for me. The initial 10 minutes was a little odd for me. Fortunately I managed to watch the entire film from start-to-finish. After the first 10 minutes the film started to portray more of a storyline. Good dialogue and acting too.

What a hidden Gem in the world of twisted films.
It was not long before I was hooked on this movie. The soundtrack and filming was superb. I know a feeder and this really made me think about what he does !! It is not for the easily offended but at the same time not so bad that its unreal. In fact, it all seems rather real in today's strange world. For £2.00 for a used copy, have a ball and enjoy some sick fun.
