Sunbonnet Sue Wall Hanging, Applique Wall Hanging, Quilted Wall Hanging, Original Wall Hanging, Hearts. This Sue is holding a heart balloon using a blue satin ribbon in her hand. This wall hanging is made of all cotton fabrics, including the batting. I made an extra backing to finish it off, I didn't like the look all of the fancy machine embroidery left on the back of this one. Fabric colors include reds, yellows, a reddish-terra cotta color, tan, and the royal blue ribbon. For the machine embroidery I used white and a new variegated thread I found that had shades of reds, terra cotta, dark maroon (almost black) in it. You can barely see it in the photos but in person it looks great! This wall hanging measures just over 21" square. I put four hanging tabs along the top, or you can fold them down and use the clear push-pin method along the top seam to pin it to your wall ( I use this method more often than I should probably admit). You can machine wash this item, but I encourage you to wash it out by hand, warm soapy water, warm rinse. Hand stretch it back into square and hang to dry. I often do a quick steam-iron touch up after washing my wall hangings, but I suppose in all honesty it isn't necessary. But I'm old and grew up ironing everything.
