Cap Washer Gray

I read many reviews trying to figure out if this contraption really worked, and which one I should buy. I bought a cheaper one that was very flimsy, that came in the mail completely bent. I returned that one, and decided to spend a couple more bucks to get a better quality one. This one is nice and sturdy, holds its shape, and REALLY works! My husband has ball caps that he has had for years, and I never washed them. I figured he could throw them away and get new ones when they got too bad for him to wear. Well, come to find out that that isn't the way it works with men and their ball caps lol. Apparently there is quite a bit of sentiment that comes in to play, and throwing away old ball caps is not an option. Anyway, washed all my husband's old ball caps in the Ballcap Buddy, in the DISHWASHER, of all things...and every one of them came clean. My husband was thrilled! So yes, these contraptions really do work!

Worked very well, had a cap that I was pretty fond of however dirt and sweat had taken it's toll, used Ballcap Bubby in the dish washer and it came out looking almost brand new. I would have given it five stars but the construction and latch are pretty flimsy.

Look no further, you've found the cap washer you are looking for! It's sturdy and can handle the washing machine. Now, the other part of the story is my SO's hats as they have been through it all: rain, sweat, sleet, Texas snow, sweat, humidity, sweat, Texas summer (about 9 months in a row), and more sweat. No, he's not a mailman, he's a sports broadcaster and almost always wears a hat (especially for baseball games and in the Texas "spring" it's already hot outside). So, I did what I could, but without something to hold the shape it was pointless. I finally ordered the Ballcap Buddy online because we had no luck anywhere else. It holds up well! I've washed 6 hats so far and with the exception of one that was already ruined with the elements previously listed and they all have come out looking and smelling MUCH better! I'm so glad to finally have this in the laundry room. Trust me, you get what you pay for, the other hat washers weren't able to take the use. Get this one, you'll like it!

Doesn't like to stay together in washing machine. Use some small zip ties to hold top and bottom together so your hat doesn't get crushed. Could have just thrown hat in wash.

Junk! Plain and simple. It is made of very cheap plastic that have tabs that you use to clip open and close the top. The tabs will break off in one use- guartaneed. It also does not work for low brimmed hats. It's too tall for the bill to fit flat down so it doesn't get messed up when washing. This really only fits big trucker baseball hats. Pure junk!

Used it in a front loading washer on gentle with some t shirts and light clothing items. Normal tide pod detergent. The hat was a NewEra 59Fifty black on black hat that had definitely seen better days. It came out clean and shaped perfectly. I highly recommend this.One tip: when opening the hat holder make sure to open it by the latch in the back of the "hat"

This thing ruined 3 of my hats throwing it out. Better off hand washing

It did it's job. Before the first use I added some zip ties to keep it closed...it just looked a little flimsy and like it wouldn't stay closed. I used it in a front loader, which the instructions say not to. I think the zip ties were a good choice, and I will continue to use them when I wash a hat. Overall it does what I wanted it to and like it.

This thing works great when used as directed. I did have a couple of multi-color caps where the dye ran from dark to light but that is not the washers fault. I found it works best to use cold water if you can but not a lot of dishwashers have that option. Also turn drying off. It got a couple of rare and expensive caps cleaned that I thought were going to be relegated to being garden or car-washing caps only. Very happy with this purchase.
