Easy replacement for intel nuc fan works great

Perfect fit for my 4 yo NUC and works fine. Sadly didn’t prevent my old box from overheating and shutting down, but that’s probably bc it’s just super old now (and has been worked hard as my plex HTPC).

My NUC7i7BNH was overheating at idle, and I realized the fan has completely seized. This fan was a perfect match for my NUC7i7BNH, and now my NUC works like normal.

Fan died in an Intel NUC PC which caused it to overheat and shutdown on a regular basis. For a couple of months I had it running de-lidded with a fan pointing at it. Ordered this fan (which took a long time to arrive) to fix it. The fan arrived with the metal on one side bent, but not bad enough to impede the blades when they spin. The installation was a pretty involved effort, requiring complete disassembly of the NUC, but that isn't the fan's fault. Blame Intel for making the unit in a way that it required complete tear-down to reach the fan. Fortunately, there are some videos online explaining how to do it.Knocked one star off for the slow delivery and the bent side, but overall I'm happy with the fan. Once it was installed in running it is just as silent as the original, which is what I had hoped for.

I have been running a NUC 5 nonstop for 6 years that is still going strong but decided I should replace the fan before the old one died. I knew Delta fans are noisy but they are very tough, and the one in my always-on 6-year-old NUC is still working fine, and even when it spins up, I never hear it. (Note: These little fans always run much faster than larger fans, and that's to be expected.)I replaced my 6-year-old fan with an identical model and nothing changed, which is what I expected, as I could occasionally blow compressed air through the air vents in the NUC to get rid of any dust that might have collected.Incidentally, you can find these Delta fans (this exact model) for a great deal more than $10 but don't fall for it. To the best of my ability to determine, this is identical to the fan I replaced. The main label (on the center of the unit) matches exactly. There is another sticker that differs but that is very probably a vendor tag.

Initially rated 5 stars, but the fan stopped working after two and a half years of intermittent use. The NUC I installed it into was only run 10% of the time, usually off. The unit went into thermal shutdown yesterday when it overheated. I removed the fan and it required a significant amount of force to turn by hand. The motor couldn't overcome the resistance so I'm buying another replacement.

My Intel NUC fan started to make a squealing noise and I knew the end was coming. I opened it up expecting to find a small box frame like any other PC, and was dismayed to find it was a low-profile impeller with some ducting because it looked custom and I didn't think it would be easy to find.As it turns out, this particular fan-with-duct is used in a lot of products, and was advertised here as fitting other Intel NUC models. So I tried one and found it was a perfect fit for my NUC5i5BNH. Since that wasn't already listed as a compatible model, I've written this review so that more people who might need this fan can find it.Getting to the fan isn't easy, there are a lot of tiny connectors to undo. The original fan held one of the mounting screws captive, but I used pliers to remove the washer so I could reuse that screw. This replacement has restored the near-silent operation of the NUC.
