proper voltage
I reviewed this cob before. Newest update. The long term results are good, It continues to function with over 1000 hours of use. NOTED: People asked about the proper voltage to drive the 100 watt cob. The correct voltage in the specification are between 32 and 34 volts of regulated power. I run the cob at 28 volts at a regulated forward current. I prefer to under volt the chip. It will increase the live span of the cob and lower the operating temperatures dramatically. This chip has nice color .
I put this into a light that had a failed chip. The failed chip was the one that came in the light and was in operation for a year. It started flickering and flashing after 30 seconds of operation. I replaced it with the new chip from Hontley. It worked great but failed again. I tried again using thermal transfer paste the second time and its still working great . The chip has a nice warm color.

Purchased 5 of these and they all work perfectly.3500K 100w versionArrived extremely quickly and the 3500ma forward current was just what I needed.Much better than the 47mil 100watt 4000k cobs I purchased elsewhere.Light quality on these is just perfect.Thank you, I will be purchasing more!

Using as grow lights! Really good light output. All 30 cobs works great. I may update this review later after my grow. Update! Excellent results! I do need to tweak how I grow because of switching from HPS to led. So I expect even better results next time.
