I would not expect standard headphone sets to compete with those.I use this Logitech headset for skype and similar chat. I travel a lot with my work, and visit many countries. I carry a set of these in a soft leather pouch (that is left from an old set of Sony headphones), in my computer bag. I use Skype for international calls back to UK phones, and this headset has proved ideal.I agree with some other reviewers in that for me the volume control and microphone mute is redundant and unnecessary.My laptop has microphone and headphone sockets at the front, so I particularly want a headset that did not use a USB connection - my USB ports are usually in use for my mouse and external hard drives.According to the people that I all and speak to, the sound from the microphone is excellent and clear.Mine has led quite a rough life, but I have no problem with cables or intermittent operation. The only wear and tear I see is that the foam ear-protectors are starting to split, and I cannot yet find suitable sized replacementsI am very happy with the useability and longevity of these . ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Good headphones but with one annoying flaw *by D***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 June 2013* this is the third set of these headphone I have had because I like the way they fold up, but reluctantly it's the last I will buy. The left hand earpiece is attached to the wire and to the mic. Unfolding the mic to talk, and the weight of the wire, means that the left earpiece swivel joint loses its stiffness (in the most recent case, in only 8 weeks) - this means it continuall droops and falls down my ear, and as such is constantly needing adjustment.If logitech could fix this, I'd buy a truckload. Until then, I'll be moving on - it's just too annoying.Mic and sound are both good - just let down badly by this flaw which was on all 3 sets.
