Not just light - low bulk
Prior to this I used a Metolius Ultralight Chalk Bag. That bag, while a good bit less expensive, has a very small buckle that is a lot more finicky to use. I appreciate not just the light weight of the Hanchor Balloon, but also the low bulk - it collapses down quite well for stowing in my lumbar pack, due to not only the lightweight outer material, but also the minimum necessary fleece inside.Caveat: I use the bag for traveling rings, not for rock climbing, and therefore more for portable chalk storage than on-body chalk storage. How well it would work for the latter, I can't say from experience (though I have no reason to think it would not work well).

Exceeds my expectations
I bought this with the intention of using it for much longer alpine ascents where every ounce is of the utmost importance. What I was not expecting was to like it so much it's now my permanent outdoor chalk bag. Yes, I'm a self admitted ounce counter and if you're a member of that clan then you'll love this bag!

For me, the label often reminds me of the cheap stuffed toys you see in claw machines and budget windows based laptops. However, a new and innovative bag company called Hanchor has dared to challenge the stereotype!Amazingly light chalk bag!Great opening that keeps its shape and the bag itself holds plenty of chalk without spilling. What comes off initially as a neat gimmick, actually feels amazing when on the sharp end!
