I think this Maryland Crab Soup is just great. I like the flavor and the general consistency. I am a native Marylander and don't understand the reviews that are critical. If you want something better, go to the Eastern Shore. If you want something with the convenience of a can delivered to your door, this is about as good as it gets.

Update: It's too slimy and lumpy to eat fresh from the can. I put it in the blender this time with no added chicken stock, Worked like a charm, I was going to throw out 10 cans, now I'm having two cans a day. Blend as is. That creates pretty much the crab soup I was looking for.Still looking for a decent crab soup. This is lumpy and not very easy to eat. I tried putting it in a blender and that didn't help much. (Works absolute wonders with Progresso's Manhattan Clam Chowder.) If anyone knows how to make this soup better, I'm all ears. I have ten cans of this stuff left. Perhaps certain dishes and soups can't be put across in a can or as a frozen entree.

After having tried multiple canned crab soups, I have found a great soup in this product. Low and behold, this soup actually had little lumps of crab meat in it. The crab I've found in other products are just strands. The soup base is very thick and full of flavor. OK, in the ingredients the company lists lobster and beef base, but the end result is very satisfying.After my experience with this product and Chincoteague's Manhattan clam chowder, I have become a true fan of this company and look forward to trying their other products if only Amazon continues to sell them.

This soup has a nice taste but more tomato tasting than crab. Maybe I'm just spoiled with home made crab soup but to me this only has a hint of crab taste and very little actual crab in it. In my opinion, definitely not worth the price.

First of all: I "luv" [Maryland] Crab Soup---Crab anything for that matter---and honestly, it's no longer easy to find. Guess many Seafood eaters, are not necessarily Seafood Lovers. Well, besides the good price, this is the best in-a-Can [Maryland Style] Vegetable Red Crab Soup I've had to date. A (Really!) decent mixture of vegetables float in a tasteful stew-like broth complete with strands of Crab Meat. I recommend adding more Crab Meat, but if you don't it is still flavorful... ---GBJ

This was the worst excuse for Md crab soup that I could have imagined. Someone else said slimy... very true. I bought for hubs for Christmas...yuk! Trying to remember everything I added to it. Chicken and vegetable broth, Old Bay, onion and garlic powder, a 1/2 t sugar and at least 1/2 lb Shwans shrimp. That was to 1 can. We were then able to eat it. Very sad. There were a small portion of the little stringy crabmeat fibers in it but to be honest, Campbell ‘s Veg beef soup with old bay would prob be far superior. Don’t like to bad mouth products, but feel honor bound to be sure you know This Is prob NOT what you’re looking for if you are missing the tastes of the Chesapeake Bay!!

I like this company's Manhattan claim chowder - lots of clams, great taste. But I don't like this crab soup as much. I feel the crab flavor gets lost in the vegetables and broth. Maybe that's normal for red crab vegetable soup, but mostly this strikes me as vegetable soup with a little crab in it.
