Genuine Ford Morello Touch Up Paint 9ml 2245582

Washing a "new" secondhand 2014 Ford Fiesta I was expecting the odd paint chip to be revealed but was little surprised to see a deep 1 * 0.5cm chip that went all the way to the metal in a very visible spot just between the lights, bumper and grill.After reading up on how to repair paint chips, I cleaned and gently sanded to remove any potential loose rust before treating with a compound to convert any remaining rust back to metal before filling and priming it.I was hoping for a perfect match for the Frozen White given that its an official Ford product. Perhaps it's just my car, but while very close and easily passing a casual glance it is subtly different but certainly good enough and for smaller more typical chips (where the advice I've read is to use a toothpick to trickle tiny amounts of touch up paint into rather than brushing it on).The problem came when I tried to apply the topcoat/lacquer. Its really quite thick and difficult to apply smoothly yet sparingly. Indeed in the end I resorted to sanding everything off, repriming and using a good quality third party spray paint and spray lacquer which results in a much smoother finish.In summary, the paint was pretty good (if not perfect), but I'd recommend avoiding using the topcoat for large chips where you'd be otherwise inclined to try to brush it on. Just get a good spray on topcoat instead which will leave a much smoother finish. I do still have other much more minor and tiny chips that I'll use this touch up kit for just not for anything quite so large.
