if carlsberg made punk bands bad religion wouldnt be on their label. due in fact to carlsberg being s*** and bad religion possibly the greatest punk band ever. after all these years a band of that age can still pump out a full cd of songs that want to make you break the world and fix it the way is should be is amazing. these guys really put all the new whinney little punk band s***s in their place. they play to a formular but that formular never really sounds stale or makes you feel like you are being sold a product, they manage to still make me feel 18 and angry which is something that only true song smiths can do which is to sell music and evoke an emotion from the listener and these guys do it every time.

Knock down to 3 stars if you own the 'Un-Limited Edition'
Hmmmm.... a strange one this. In one way this is great - 3 brand new bad religion songs and 4 acoustic versions of existing BR tracks amongst other goodies, but still, for all the people who bought it first time around this is a bit of a kick in the teeth. Sure you don't HAVE to buy it, but if your into your BR you'll probally want it to complete the collection. So I was a bit naughty with this one, and downloaded the bonus tracks off of a torrent site (new BR tracks do not come that often), so here goes a quick run through of what you get musically (don't know about the video stuff yet!):New Tracks:Won't Somebody - A relatively good song, not my favourite, but it's a kinda catchy.Adam's Atoms - Absolutly brilliant track, I love this song - Greg sounds great, in my opinion the best new songChronophobia - Heres where the piano comes in, funky, differnt from the other songs on here, but not up there with American LesionThe Rest:Sorrow/God Song - Great acoustic only versions, appeared on the Japanese version of NMOH so won't be new to everyoneDearly Beloved - Has an almost 'spanishy' feel, I like this a lot, although the "dearest in memorium..." bridge bit lacks the power of the orignal (could have done more here I think sorry guys)Skyscraper - Incredible piano version of a classic BR song. Stunning. One thing I would say is that this is one for the fans. If you love Bad Religion then get this. If you are newish to them and just have the last few albums and are in to the heavier moments... I'm not sure you'll be getting what you want.Next time you do a bonus edition Mr Brett please release the bonus material as a LTD ED standalone disk for all those who are loyal and buy on release day first time around!

Most tracks are great classic BR, though Overall: Uneven album
If you're looking for something new, different from other Bad Religion albums, then you should maybe switch to another band, cause this album is as much classical BR as it can be, apart maybe for two or three tracks that explore rarely visited ground for the band.As for me, when I want to hear experimental music or bands that try to break through new undiscovered grounds, I'll turn around and listen to different bands. If I want to hear fast, very melodic punk I can sing along with, I always turn to BR first. So I'm very pleased with this release since this is what I was looking for, and this is how I like my BR. Yes, it is repetitive of older material, but which BR album isn't? Even their "No Substance" album, if much slower overall, does not depart very much from what the band has done before. So, this album has very great tracks in my opinion that would make it on my BR alltime best of. "Heroes and matyrs", "New Dark Ages", "Requiem for dissent", "Before you die", "dearly beloved", " Grains of wrath", "Scrutiny" and "Lost Pilgrim", were instant classics for me.As for the other tracks, they're not to be forgotten as well and are very melodic, but not as much to my taste (at least, I did'nt get hooked the first time). So overall, I really had a great moment listening to the first 2/3 of the album, but the last part is somehow weaker and less addictive BR (except the tracks I mentionned). It feels as if the "fillers" were all lined up at the end of the album. For example, "Murder" is a violent and very fast track, which I usually like, but here it feels out of place as if they didnt know where to put it and just dropped it there.Last but not least, "52 seconds" is a weak way to start an album compared to "The empire strikes first" mystic intro, but, hey, it's "different"... which should please the annoyed "new stuff seekers".4 stars for giving me at least 9 new tracks I'll envoy for a long time.why not 5? The good work feels incomplete and less "fillers" would shurely equal more pleasure on this one.By the way, If you take the best tracks of the last three albums, you'll get one hell of a good BR mix. These guys can still rock.
