My storm door is 36" wide. how to install this 47 1/2" wide awning? do i have to cut this awning to fit it?

You cannot cut it, and I don't think you should. It is designed to be wider than the door frame to protect from the elements. You'll have to use your ingenuity to figure where the screws will go in to a secure surface. Your door outer frame should be solid enough so you can mount it on that.

Does this include everything you need to install it?

It comes w/what you need. I used longer screws that I had to make a deeper set into the wood, though.

6 inches and 46 1/2 inches across

How much clearance above the door is needed?

at least 14 inches, but you can add washers to give more outward or upward space
