Not bad
I've only had it for a few days, but so far it seems ok. I bought it with the rear-view mirror mount, so it sits fairly discreetly under my rear-view mirror. The power cord is, I believe 12 feet long. It's just long enough to go up through the headliner of my Honda Odyssey, under the trim along the passenger door, under the glove compartment, then up from the ground by the center console where I have a three outlet cigarette lighter adapter.Picture quality is pretty good, although a little dark. I will have to play with the exposure settings. Sound is a little crackly at times, but ok. Biggest problem I have is navigating the menus. The user manual it comes with is crap. It took quite a bit of playing with it to figure out how to get into the settings menus. You have to turn off recording, and almost instantly hit the menu button. If you wait more than about half a second, it goes right back into record mode. It continues recording for about one or two seconds after turning off my car.You can easily read license plates in front of you when sitting at a stoplight. When moving, I could read the plate of a car about one and a half car lengths ahead of me and in the other lane, but only if I blew the video up on my computer screen.I've never had another dashcam, so I can't really compare it to any other model. But I like it so far. I bought this model specifically because I live in Florida, and it can get incredibly hot in the car in the summer. I would buy it again.

Good For The Money, But You'll Need To Replace The Power Supply
This G1W Dashcam is the capacitor version.Pros:1. Great in hot environments as there is no battery, just a capacitor.2. Takes decent 1080p at 30 FPS Video in daylight.3. Great value for the dollar.4. Simple, it just records video, & audio if you enable it.Cons:1. Doesn't hold a charge for long. If it sits off for more than 2 days the timestamp will reset.2. Maximum storage for SD Card (Not Included) is 32GB.3. Night time video recording isn't really good. That said, it's fine for what it does.4. Power supply is extremely cheap. Mine burned out in 1 year, but I replaced it with an Anker USB Charger & a USB A to Mini-B Cable.Besides the power supply issues & the fact it doesn't come with an SD card or any internal storage, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a simple dashcam that doesn't track your with GPS, speed monitoring, or any other fancy garbage! 10/10 would buy this model again in case I total my current one in an accident.

had to return
about four years ago I have purchased G1W-C from the same seller, and just recently I stopped working, so I decided to buy a replacement. Camera did not work properly: every time you power it off, all setting will be erased, the most annoying was "loop recording" it will reach the end of memory and display message "card is full". I contacted the seller and they sent me software patch, which fix it just partially. Date, time and car plate will reset to default value every time you turn off your engine. Plus i don't like night time picture quality, street lights creating glare, so you can not see much. Previous version had better quality. Seller had offered free replacement, but instructions were kind of weird, I could not follow them, so I decided to return.

A decent camera for a decent recording.
The camera is a good value for the money. It gets the job done. It records well at 720p. I have not tested 1080p. The audio is decent. The suction part does its job and sticks to the windshield. Overall this camera will get a car's license plate and capture a wide view of what's ahead of you. It isn't the best camera, but certainly isn't bad.

WON'T FAST FORWARD OR REWIND
I bought this CAM on 7/30/18. I thought it worked great until today 2/1/18 I tried to playback videos and realized I COULD NOT fast forward or rewind them. They play great, but the FF and RW doesn't display at the bottom of the screen during playback and when I hit the UP or Down key as indicated in instructions it simply changes the volume of the audio during playback. I bought a 3 year squaretrade warranty and after filling out a bunch of info online and uploading my receipt the screen said ....contact seller....how nice. Finally got a refund after a phone call and red tape.

The night recording quality is not as good as the units that have the cmos sony sensor
This is an inexpensive option. The night recording quality is not as good as the units that have the cmos sony sensor. This unit also sticks out as a dash cam more compared to lower profile units like the anker roav. I also purchased the Roav from anker and it is a much better unit.

Don’t buy
Instructions poor M and Mode button don’t work consistently. Random operations drop into configuration mode while operating. Get it working for a day then while driving it stops working. Don’t waste your money on this. Manufacturer instructions are poor and user feedback is useless.Purchase anything else. Searching for another option now

The videos look really good though.
Software is flaky with this. If you lose power before the 3-minute video recording ends, the video is corrupted and will not play. The user interface, and instruction manual, are very unclear making it difficult to program. The videos look really good though.
