Spraying too much starch is an issue of course, but that is self-inflicted one. It was much worse with the 2007 model. **Q: Are there steam holes on the inside top surface that could cause "dimples" in the fabric when ironing?** A: There are steam holes but the don't cause any dimples in the clothes when ironing. At least not for me. **Q: What happens to the water in the canister if it is not all used when the ironing is done? Will it leak out if I stand the unit upright for storage?** A: I have never stored other than flat, except for when we moved. I mention the following because I would be concerned that the water might get into unusual places which might result in rust. My first model from 2007 (SF-660 or 680) was lost in moving boxes for at least 6 months and when I attempted to use it again, continuously expressed rust in the water despite a strong effort to cleanse it. Had to buy a new one in 2013. My 2013 replacement model, SF-623, just today expressed rust for the first time. I had only used it a half dozen times (all within the last 6-8 months) since we moved in 2018 and I only noticed it very lightly on the last of 4 shirts and 1 pant that I pressed, but the last one was light-colored and partially white.
