The Crayon Box that Talked

I read this book aloud to my classroom. The students really enjoyed it and it has a great message.

Nice story to help children learn that we are all different but when we work together we can accomplish wonderful things!

This is an easy read that you may want to read together with your child or discuss it with them when they’re done. It’s was a cute way to discuss not only the importance and need for our differences, but also embracing them. When we are in a world that seems to be so divisive, this book is a breath of fresh air.

A well written and illustrated children’s book with a meaningful message.

The story is very cute, and easy for kids to understand. The pictures are fun, bright, and colorful. However, what I don't like is, on my Kindle, the pictures are really small. I was hoping the picture would fill the screen, like other books. I was trying to read it to a small group of kids, and the children had to pass my Kindle around to see the pictures. If the pictures were bigger I would have given it 5 stars.

This book is so good for students who need to learn to get along

I bought this book as a gift for my 3 year old son. I was looking for a story that was simple, colorful and had a good lesson. This book completely fit the bill. He loves pointing out the colors of the crayons. The story is the perfect length for my son's very typical 3 year old's attention span. The morals of the story, respect and teamwork, are translated very well. Both the author and the illustrator did a wonderful job.

I originally found this book when my sons were younger. I recently shared it in a college course on comparative religion. It is not a religion based book, but it is about appreciation and respect for others. Many of the adults enjoyed the colorful pictures and the greater meaning of it and shared it with their own children. I think it's a must read for all ages - a reminder that we are all special and can make the world a better place by working together.

Excellent message that is clearly told and little kids can understand. Great for a crayon theme with the Day the Crayons Quit, Red, and other crayon themed books.

Fantastic life lessons to help children to discover that each person is as unique as the next, and together, we can be happy and harmonious.

I was expecting more from this book especially based on the feedback on Goodreads.com. The colours and pictures are relatively done well but somehow the writing is not as exciting. The concept is good ie that only when the colours work together can they create something good and that appreciating each other's strengths is also important. This book gets a 3 star from me purely because I liked the messaging.
