This is the best general accordion method available today.Points that make this book excellent:1. Use of contemporary LH fingering including 4th finger as dominant, and use of pinky finger. This is a must to play contemporary music, and the contemporary fingering everyone needs to learn. So many of the American books still say use your 3rd finger which is super antiquated.2. The book makes a priority to teach the left hand as a melody maker at the same time as teaching the right hand as a melody maker. This is super important because it gives the student a concept that the accordion is more than just an oom-pa-pa machine.3. The music etudes and pieces are all of very high musical quality, and the progression of difficult and new skills makes great pedagogical sense.4. Comes with a CD where you can hear all of the pieces you are working on played by one of the greatest living accordionists, Richard Galliano!5. The book moves at a quick pace and will take someone from no knowledge of music or accordion up to U.S. intermediate level of technique.The book isn't perfect, here are a few places the book is lacking:1. The editing wasn't perfect, and there are some errors, mostly in the left hand fingering or bass or chord note.2. Crescendo, diminuendo, accents, dynamics are all present in the pieces, and a good teacher will make sure they are played. But what is missing are exercises and etudes to explain and develop these bellowing concepts. In fact they are crucial for developing players. And a good teacher will address them with supplemental material. What is a good resource for these in English....I don't believe one exists, at least not by American publishers.3. For people who don't speak French, this isn't not the appropriate book for a self-taught person. I wish the publisher would create an English translation, and then it WOULD be a great book for a self-taught person. If you are an accordion teacher or already knowledge about accordion technique you will understand every page of the book with only a little bit of Google translate used.Summary: If you are an accordion teacher and want a great method book to teach your students from, that is appropriate for all interests, this is a great book. If you are looking for a super thorough university level, or intense classical method that covers every aspect of elementary accordiontechnique, you should find a copy of Metodo Berben per Fisarmonica.

Cette méthode est parfaite pour apprendre à jouer de l'accordéon, même sans professeur. Elle est très progressive et agréable à utiliser. Le doigté est donné à la fois pour un clavier bouton et pour un clavier piano. De plus, les morceaux sont très jolis et ne font pas trop "vieillots". Le CD est un gros atout car on entend le morceau tel qu'il doit être joué. Seul petit bémol : très peu d'explications concernant le clavier. Mais cela ne m'a absolument pas gênée car on trouve tout ce qu'il faut sur internet. Je suis novice et ai vraiment beaucoup progressé en quelques semaines seulement. Je recommande cette méthode sans hésiter et vous souhaite autant de plaisir que j'en ai à l'utiliser.

Ne vous attendez pas à avoir de longs discours : quand vous ouvrez cette méthode, vous ne voyez que des partitions accompagnées de quelques brèves annotations et dessins enfantins. C'est déroutant au début. Surtout quand on ne connait pas le solfège comme moi. Mais finalement, la méthode est si bien faite que ça ne pose pas de problème. Les annotations sont explicites et efficaces, l'apprentissage très progressif. On apprend le solfège en même temps que l'on découvre l'instrument. De plus le CD nous monte le résultat auquel nous devons aboutir. Les morceaux sont très variés et très agréables (il m'arrive d'écouter le CD juste pour le plaisir). C'est donc très motivant. Seul bémol, il manque au début de l'ouvrage des explications claires sur la façon de tenir l'instrument et sur l'organisation de ses claviers. Il y a bien quelques schéma, mais je trouve cela insuffisant. Heureusement, vous compenserez sans problème ce manque avec internet.

Recommandé par ma prof de musique, cette méthode est plutôt bien faite et assez progressive. Ce n'est pas hyper folichon, pas très joyeux ou actuel en ce qui concerne les morceaux mais pour l'apprentissage, c'est assez efficace.

méthode digne d'intérêt, car fondée par de grands professionnels de l'accordéon, mais pour un débutant ayant acheté (un peu imprudemment un accordéon à 96 boutons de basses) , les accords ne sont pas faciles à retrouver..néanmoins présentation claire et morceaux bien choisis; le CD est complémentaire.

Un grand merci à Richard & Lucien pour cette magnifique méthode il ne manque rien, elle est bien faite et agréable à suivre sans contrainte les petits morceaux font bien sonner les harmonies , je classe donc cette méthode au TOP N°1 il n'y a pas besoin de prof il suffit d’être attentif et de bien écouter le CDRemerciement à vous deux
