Hopsin utilizes elements of horrorcore to go along with his constant disrespect of the American government and mainstream hip-hop artists. Though his lyrical content is fairly disturbing, Hopsin has spoken out against the positive portrayal of careless alcohol and drug abuse given by more famous rappers. Tired of seeing artists he deems "undeserving" achieve worldwide prosperity, critics hail RAW as "an intelligent look inside the numerous problems plaguing modern society.

I have to respect the Hustle
It takes some serious.....fortitude to bypass conventional methods of music promotion and release direct to the public. I got this as a digital download via Amazon's great DRM free MP3 system. I can say honestly I would have paid full price for this album. It reminds me a lot of Eminem's early works as it is very violent, angry, and clearly coming from a darker place. Hopsin lays his heart out line, but quickly reacts as any real person would given what he went through with angry out rage. It is raw to have an album that is sensored not for the strong language, but certain names to avoid legal complications. This album is most definately RAW and a great place to start with Hopsin. Raw Dope Lyricist
I just discovered Hopsin about 6 months ago only becasue I'm a huge Tech N9ne fan and I ran across the song "Am I A Psycho" featuring Hopsin and B.O.B. and was really impressed with Hopsin's verse. He is raw and doesn't follow the mainstream hype train. This raw cd is really good and the best album I've bought in a while.

Keep it RAW!!!
This exceeded all my expectations and kept bringing more to the table...Tracks are real bangers...content is super concentrated with worth while lyrics. And it sounds good in your ears...you can't help but move to this. Better all the monotone rappers that are so popular thease days production wise and lyric wise...and all from Hop's basement?! In your face...how you like him now?

5 stars for the music 1 star for Amazon.
The cd itself is absolutely amazing, however when i received it I noticed the disc looked to be a burned cd and the case was cheaper and was not the correct cover art on back or inside had no information as to what music label it was from or any thing just track names. wasn't pleased, I re-ordered the cd from the official site.

For real hip-hop fans.
Yeah, this album is dope for true fans who hate the garbage on the radio and it's for those who remember what hip-hop was all about. He makes his own beats, directs his own videos, and records. He's talented as can be and is often thought provoking with an amazing delivery and good word play. A Must Have!

just listen to him...
by far Raw is hopsin's best album, followed by Knock Madness. Just listen to them. he is one of the few rappers, or even musicians for that matter, who can release a cd that you can listen straight through, without skipping a single track. you won't be disappointed. so underrated....

Something a bit different
I have been a huge fan of rap for quite a while so my friend introduced me to Hopsin and I got instantly hooked! If you're a fan of Eminem, I would recommend Hopsin. He doesn't hit on the same topics, but it's just as original and something I, personally, can listen to for days.

It's always Nocturnal Rainbows...
Though this was his breakthrough to the mainstream Hopsin still maintains the truth and a balanced album between hardcore rap and clowning fun, as well as portraying a strong singing voice. The album kicks in with two knockout tracks 'Hot 16's' and 'Sag My Pants' showing Hop's high lyrical ability as well as his stand on wack rappers, then the album unfolds to themes such as shot up's on the block, how fame has changed his life and the women that have changed his life. From the off (if you listen to a lot of hip hop) you can hear the influence of Eminem in quite a few of the songs, though Hopsin cuts out high metaphorical points and complex bar structures what he leaves in is raw emotion and lines that are spat to make the listener wet. Though this is a criticism of Hop too, his rhymes are strong and funny after a couple of listens it is hard to find a deeper meaning behind the words, he doesn't have the lyrical complexity of say Wu-Tang Clan or Nas but he makes up for this with his razor-sharp production and reality behind every word he raps. This album will not disappoint for hard core fans of hip hop or music in general though after multiple listens you may ache for some Rakim or Mos Def.Essential Tracks:Hot 16'sSag My PantsNocturnal RainbowsHow You Like Me Now

Good album for any real rap lover
Had to give this 5 stars as it is a quality album with great beats, incredible lyricism and unmatchable flow. Hopsin really has resuscitated rap back to life with this album. The price of the album is a little on the high side at £12 or so, but not to much to pay if you really are into your rap.Overall happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone who likes Eminem (old) style rap.
