Solid VR Story
I definitely enjoyed reading Shattered Sword. This a VR story much in the same vein as Ready Player One. It got most of the (VR)MMORPG stuff right, and you would be surprised how many people get it wrong. Some of the dialogue could get a bit cheesy, but overall it is a fun time. The story ends on a satisfying note, but this does continue into the next books.Happy Reading

Great epic fantasy LitRPG/Gamelit
Dhalia has inherited her father's debt, and she must pay it off even at 16. If she cannot, she will be forced to go into indentured service. Her plan? Become an Earner on the world's most popular VR game, Eternal Online. She has less than a month to earn the money for the first payment. Will she be able to work the game in her favor or will she end up losing everything, including her freedom? This is a wonderfully written LitRPG/GameLit novel. It isn't fast-paced, by any means, and more for gamers who like to explore and do all the little things in their fantasy worlds. I liked seeing the every day chores for survival, and how Dahlia (a.k.a. Hana in the game) bettered her skills. The cast of real and digital characters is marvelous. I adore Pachi! A lot in the fascinating plot inside and outside of the game is unresolved, but Dahlia is growing, and it's realistic as she slowly becomes her best self. I will be picking up the next book!

Overall a good story
Decent series start. Good protagonist who is a bit shy IRL. There is still a lot of back story to be delivered but enough described in this book to create A good setting. I found the progression to be worthy though we don't have a good sense of the scale of the game. The level she achieved in this book may or may not be grand in the scheme of things. There was a slight bit of "Mary Sue "As some of the gifted items seemed a bit OP and some of the encounter seemed a bit convenient. This of course is consistent with an AI that cater is the game experience to the player. However out heroine seems dedicated to the grind and works her class skills diligently. I enjoyed this book enough that I'll probably read the second one.

Pure Reading Pleasure
This book is such a pleasant surprise. The interesting premise, MC joins online game to pay off an inherited debt, might tempt listeners to try it but it the story itself and the author's laugh out loud writing style that makes this over 400 page book an absolute joy to read. Once immersed in the game world, the MC has to find her feet while leveling up as fast as she can. The idea being to find/make in game items that she can sell back in the real world to pay her debts. The online world she finds herself in is one of quests, warriors and mages as well as dangerous monsters and interesting characters.Nowhere does this story drag or become slow and the author does a superb job of painting a picture of this online game for the reader. When you aren't choking on your coffee laughing that is.This story does not contain any cliffhangers however it is definitely incomplete and requires the next book in the series. Recommended.

Solidly written, solid world building
Pluses: Main character is relatable. Main character is also female, unlike most litrpg books. She has a reasonable problem and turns to online gaming as a reasonable solution. She tries to meta game to give herself an advantage but the game logically nullifies that. Decent editing with no obvious grammar or spelling issues that I noticed. Enjoyed the 'looting' system being realistic. I enjoyed the concept of the long term player areas. I liked her eventual pet. The game system in general made sense, even when dealing with things like ranged weapons and resurrection. I enjoyed the interactions with the NPCs.Caution: If you're not into the idea of teen girls finding other teen girls attractive (though absolutely nothing happens or is even said, due to both teena being shy) beware.Cons: Given her plan to game the system with her item, i was surprised by her choice of classes. I'm happy about the choice, but it just surprised me.In general, I enjoyed this book and have already prepurchased the second.

If you’re a gamer, this one is for you.
Not being a gamer, this book was a little disjointed to me. If you love fantasy and heroic quests, this would be the story for you. Makes you want to create this world just so you can play the game. Nice premise that you can exchange money that you make on line for money in the real world. We don’t quite get there in this installment, as she seems to spend her money on equipment and supplies as quickly as she gets it, but perhaps it’s in the next installment.

Pretty Good
This story of a girl who spends the last of her money to try and earn money in a game before she becomes an indentured slave to pay off her fathers debt was very interesting and entertaining.I was tricked into reading this series earlier than I would’ve had I known book three was still a few months from being released. I usually wait for a series to have three books before I read them. It was good nonetheless

Great story, really well written.
Love the story and the growing cast of characters. The author is writing a story with good depth. It is a slow build story with great action. The mc Hana has good, well thought out quests to complete. Overall just a really good story. If you like audio, it is narrated by the legendary Andrea Parsneau.

Wonderful characters, Engaging story
The book starts with some fairly standard troubled-life backstory leading into the MC's decision to enter Eternal Online. Once she enters the online world the story telling blooms into a gloriously detailed world with believable, relatable characters. After a bit of getting to know the world we start to see a much larger story emerge. The world is full well crafted and isn't just limited to what is happening to our main characters. There is something new to discover around every corner. On completing this book I immediately bought book 2 and, when it released, book 3.

LitRPG, katana-girl, slice-of-life realness!
T. J. Reynold's debut novel is an amazing introduction to a vivid world with fully fleshed-out characters and an outstanding epic fantasy VRMMORPG world. The book gave me Ready Player One vibes and absolutely nailed with its LitRPG system.I can't wait for the second installment!
