The HATCHBOXPLA 3D Printer Filament is a high-quality, transparent blue filament designed for 3D printing enthusiasts. With a dimensional accuracy of +/- 0.03 mm and a 1.75 mm diameter, this 1 kg spool is vacuum-sealed with desiccant to ensure optimal performance. It operates effectively within a temperature range of 180Β°C - 210Β°C, making it a versatile choice for various 3D printers.

Good Results, Difficult Material
I've purchased 4 colors of Hatchbox's colored transparent PLA. I really like the effect, but the filament is a challenge to work with. I've used them in a couple dozen prints. As others have said, it is very brittle. I haven't had the filament break during a print, but I've returned to my printer the next day and seen that overnight, the filament broke between the roll and the extruder. The PLA is also stringy and has a low melting point. The packaging says to print it at 200 degrees, but I typically print at just 180 - 185.I purchased the filament to make Christmas ornaments. It worked out well. I printed the ornaments with walls just 0.4 mm thick for maximum transparency. When I placed them in front of a light of the same color, the ornaments positively glowed.I've recently started printing toy tops in this, too. The tops need to be solid to have enough mass to spin well. When printed thick, the filament looks waxy or jelly-like.Overall, I'd say I like it. I plan to continue to use it. It's not right for every application and it can be difficult to work with. You'll definitely want to keep an eye on your print to make sure nothing goes wrong during the print. The red has an orange tint. The blue is a deep sky blue. Yellow is VERY yellow. Green looks minty. Of the 4 colors, yellow is the least transparent while green and blue are the most. That surprised me.

Great Reputation. But that does not mean you don't get bad apples!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please note the fact that I'm writing this review almost a full year after having bought this filament----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I bought the Orange color because I needed to get a project done for my wife which was of a pretty large size.Unfortunately, I could not use it on the printer I intended to because the extruder was struggling to get the filament through and the extruder gear was skipping steps making an annoying knocking sound so loud and so frequent that I had to kill the print.Although my large printer was almost brand new at the time, I still suspected the printer and not the filament. Therefore, I decided to use this filament on my tiny desktop printer for which it has been largely recommended by the printer manufacturer.Fast forward to today, and almost a year of ownership, I cannot stop this filament from causing that awful knocking sound and skipping steps even on my tiny desktop printer. I have to dial the feed rate down to 80% or less before the noise and the skipping stops and wait forever for the print to complete. I have tried other brands from China by going against my skepticism of overseas brands, and surprisingly these filaments have performed well on all of my 3 printers without any problems. Between last March and today, I've bought and printed several brands that I had no prior idea about, and none of these filaments have had this problem.I suspect that I might've received an out of spec filament from Hatchbox that is over-sized from its original spec of 1.75 mm in several places along the filament roll. This is *THE ONLY* filament among my vast collection of PLA filaments that is causing the extruder gears to jump and skip extrusion.Like I said, Reputable Brand, but I ended up with a Bad Apple. In retrospect, I wish I had returned this ASAP, but I never suspected the filament to begin with. Now I use this filament to print prototype pieces largely intended for the trash can. Therefore, exercise your judgement before hitting the Buy button.

Glitters like a gemstone and nearly as strong!
I've been 3D printing for 5 years, but I've never encountered filament as strong, consistent, and mesmerizing as Hatchbox. Their translucent PLA has incredible color depth, with an unexpected luminous sheen under direct sunlight. Sometimes secondary colors manifest from the internal refractions!Normally transparent materials are brittle, but I have to use wire cutters and metal dental picks just to remove any leftover supports. My creations have stood up to everything from severe weather to attacks from my cats. Hatchbox has won me over as a loyal customer!

The translucence is perfect if you want to print something semi transparent.
I used this to make translucent brake light for my kids Power Wheels. Came out perfect with just enough see through for the lights to work.Only reason i gave it 3 stars overall is the filament is brittle? After every print, so far, by the next day the filament will snap off where it is exposed to my printer. I've never had this issue with the Hatchbox PLA black filament. And i've used it for 2 years now. Could be an issue with transparent material? Then I have to struggle pulling out the piece inside the feeder tube on my printer and pushing new filament back in.All the parts are coming out great. Just a paint to start each time when it breaks. One time it broke right at the start of a print, thank god i didn't get 2-3 hours in before that happened. Other then that all my prints went smooth.

The other Hatchbox filaments I've had are fine. Must be the make up of this one ...
Far too brittle. It has snapped at least a dozen times on me and on one occasion at 4.5 hours into a 6 hour print I left the printer to eat my dinner and when I came back the filament had snapped and the printer was trying to build the model with fresh air. The other Hatchbox filaments I've had are fine. Must be the make up of this one or I just got a defective reel. Will not buy this particular filament again.

A good finish and great value.
Great filament that I use on a Dremel 3D20. This filament has a nice translucence and produces a nice fine almost shiny finish. Its well priced, although Hatchbox has a poor availability in UK.

Good material let down by jamming/taggled spool
At the first I was really impressed with this material. Consistent print quality and overall a nice look.I'm a few prints in and on s particularly long print it jammed... I choice hatchbox material to avoid this! I sat with the material whilst printing and had to detagle it 2-3 times over a couple of hours.

Prints very well
Prints extremely well, with no strings. Deformation is very low. Perhaps a not as tough as some filaments, but that comes with increased strength and rigidity. Clarity depends on many factors. It will never be clear when printed, but will definitely let light through. I'd describe the colour as tinted, but mostly transparent.
