    LG Model WM2455HW Perfect Fit

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2013*

Washing machine LG Model WM2455HW Perfect FitAt first, the drum just stopped spinning.I tried a new wash cycle and watched it.It failed during the drain cycle and gave an "OE" error code.....I opened the drain filter (small 4" x 6" door on the lower left corner of the machine),unscrewed the filter and drained about two buckets of "hard water" from there.Youtube shows you to open the back panel, the top panel and three fronts panels.Just watch it to know the concept. I replaced this pump from underneath the machine.Lean the machine against the wall, take the cover of the drain filter off, unscrew two screws to release the drain filter compartment. There is a plasticspring clip holding the compartment underneath the machine, push on that and pullthe whole assembly out. Take a picture of the electrical plugs, unplug the wires.Unscrew three more screws and the pump should be released. Putting back is as easy.Mine is working fine now. Don't forget to level it after you push it back into position.I tested the old pump, it's still working fine and strong. The only problem is thequality of the plastic "fan" on the pump. Mine became all crunchy and all theedges were gone, probably due to the warm and hot water going thru it over the years.I hope LG or somebody else would invent a better quality fan for this pump.

A terrific part at the best price = strong recommendation

If you're reading this review, you're probably dejected about the OE code on your LG washing machine, and stuck between calling someone or rolling up your own sleeves. I just installed this pump myself, after I had the same dilemma. It fit perfectly, the work was a snap, and now our LG WM2016CW is working like new.I surfed around Amazon and looked at the other pumps, and concluded that these items are pretty universal. Here's a link that helped me match parts, although Amazon had better prices, like usual: http://www.genuineapplianceparts.com/manufacturer/LG_Parts/52/46. This will tell you what fits what (and the 2001D and 2001T will both fit.) Then I poked through some youtube vids, and found my winner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZr8qjQ81CQ. This experienced fellow gives you step by step directions, and the tools and labor are minimal. I had our machine apart, old pump out, new pump in, and all put back together in about an hour. It seemed a little too easy, but there wasn't a catch; the LG 4681EA2001D performed beautifully. Everything drained quickly and cleanly, and contrary to a few other comments I've read, it isn't noisy. The concern, of course, was getting the part as quickly as possible--the laundry was piling up. I selected next day shipping for an extra $5, and after ordering it on Sunday night (quite late-- more like Monday morning) it came on Wednesday morning. Cool. The important diagnosis with that OE code is really the increasing frequency that it happens. Our machine's around seven years old, and but for this problem, it's still cleaning very well. However, that horrible OE kept popping up more and more, and my wife would come in from the garage huffing about how "it's doing it again." OK, time for more than a drain clean out (if you have an LG front load, you know what I'm talking about.) Anyway, all evidence pointed towards the pump, and the evidence was correct. It's what you need. There really isn't anything else to foul up the drain, if your hose isn't blocked. I popped out the hose while I was under the hood, and ran a snake through it, and hosed it out. It was gooey, but not part of the problem. Here's what you do: Buy this LG 4681EA2001D, watch the fix it video a couple of times, grab a cold adult beverage, put your favorite tunes on, and have fun. It'll work, and you'll score major points around the house. Oh, and a few more tips: Cut back on the size of your loads, the cycle level, and especially the amount of detergent. Half what it says to use is still too much. After I ran a quick cycle with no detergent, the washer still frothed like crazy--that's bad for the pump, and the environment. And that was after I'd cleaned everything out. A couple of tablespoons is plenty.Anyway, with this sweet little baby you'll save hundreds and be a hero with minimal effort. Go for it.

LG original part, appears to be built to fail almost immediately just like the orignial part

*by B***0 on Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2020*

This was a big disappointment oh, it is in fact original LG product, however from internet reviews it appears LG intentionally made this particular part to be the failing part in the particular washer dryer machine, guaranteeing I need to have it serviced or to replace it lawn before it should have any issues. I only got about 50 loads before the original pump died, I replaced it with this original equipment part, and only got about 20 loads and it died. So I have now attempted to repair both the original pump and this replacement pump, I'm going to reinstall it and see what happens. LG used to make some of the best products out there in the past 10 years they have started selling pure garbage designed to fail shortly after reaching the warranty. If not before.
