My Little Pony: The Reason for the Season

My 3 year old daughter LOVES My Little Ponies and I was delighted to find this My Little Pony Christmas book for one of her St. Nick's Day gifts! I read this book myself to see what it was all about and I just loved the message behind it. Applejack and Pinkie Pie and their families are going to be spending the holiday together where Pinkie Pie's family lives in Rockville. The holiday discussed is Hearth's Warming, which seems to be their equivalent of Christmas. If you are familiar with any of the MLP: Friendship is Magic episodes, you will recognize a bit of the history of Hearth's Warming from the episode entitled "Hearth's Warming Eve." As Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Applejack's family take the train to Rockville, they discuss how each family normally celebrates the holiday and are surprised to find out how different each family's traditions can be.Once the train arrives in Rockville and they meet Pinkie Pie's family, Applejack is very confused, sad and longing for her family's traditions. The story ends with the families merging some of their traditions and everyone is happily celebrating together. The very last sentence in the book is "Even though they might celebrate differently, the ponies know that harmony is the reason for the season" and I love how that not only is part of this story, it also applies to us as well.This book is great for anyone who is a fan of MLP. Please note that the story is mostly about Applejack, Pinkie Pie and their families and Twilight Sparkle is only mentioned in the beginning of the story. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy are not mentioned at all so if your MLP fan likes those ponies the best, this book may be a little disappointing to them. Overall, I think it's a wonderful story about how every pony celebrates Hearth's Warming differently and it's okay to see their traditions and create new ones, which shows kids it's the same for us as well. At just over 20 glossy, colorful pages, it's a story that will probably take you about 5 to 10 minutes to read to your child (give or take a few minutes if they like to look at the pictures and ask lots of questions!). I feel it's very reasonably priced and would make a great Christmas gift or even a gift to enjoy just before Christmas. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is a My Little Pony fan!

I think the story could have been a lot better but it is a decent book for ages 5-7 since it is paper and fragile.

longer than expected! i thought it would be like one of those level 2 “get ready to read” books or something but it’s more advanced and i love it

I purchased this for our daughter who is obsessed with My Little Pony. The story is cute, and relatively short so you can read it 100 times without completely dreading it. Our daughter is 18 months old, so the fact that she wants this book read to her OVER AND OVER and actually sits through it is quite impressive. If you have a MLP fan in your house, this is a great buy.

Gift for my niece and she went crazy over it! She loves My Little Pony and this holiday book was perfect to put with her stocking. It is for about an 8 year old reading level and although I got it for a younger girl she enjoyed listen to the story with lots of fun pictures.

I asked my granddaughter how many stars we should give this book. She is 4 and said....50. I said you can give it one star for ehhh....etc and 5 stars for a great book. She said 5 stars Nana. So there you have it!

This book is very thin and easy to tear if you have a younger kid who isn't as gentle with their books then this might not be a good one to go with. I wish it was a board book style.

A mi hija de 6 años no le gusta el inglés, pero le encanta My Little Pony.A través de estos cuentos he encontrado la manera de que se acerque al inglés con más cariño y se interese por el idioma.Tienen ilustraciones bonitas, como las escenas de la serie de dibujos; lo que hace que le resulten todavía más atractivos a la niña.Su tamaño no es muy grande por lo que son fáciles de guardar y ocupan poco espacio.

Great value arrived on time excellent condition would recommend for Xmas gift ,reading ,especially for lil pony fans
