The Levine Panama Bogart is a tight weave Genuine Panama Straw Fedora with 2 1/2" classic snap brim and bogart pre-shape crown. The Bogart gets its name from icon Humphrey Bogart who wore a similar brim and block in many of his most famous movies. Levine Genuine Panama Hats are DuPont Teflon treated for exceptional durability and resistance to water, oil and stains. Whereas other, non treated hats will eventually crack or decay due to handling and the oils on your fingertips, our panama straw dress hats will last extra years due to their DuPont Teflon coating and will not crack, even if you occasionally forget to handle your handle your hat by the brim as you always should. Crown cracking is further prevented by the glued "crown tip" inside your hat which strengthens the front of the hats crown. This hat is trimmed with a basic gentleman's brown grosgrain bow band. The band is sewn close to the hat, and is approximately 1-inch in width for a classic look. The band is sewn on for a finished look and so that it will not fall off, but other hat bands can be hooked on over your existing hat band if you choose. The Levine Bogart Panama is finished with a DRI-CLOTH comfort cotton sweat band on the interior, which wicks away sweat and keeps you cool and dry. After a few wears, this band will self-conform, meaning that it will begin to form to the shape of your head. This hat is unlined for maximum breathability and comfort; it is ideal for Spring and Summer wear. Straw is Hand Woven in Ecuador under the moonlight. Blocked and Finished in USA.

Quality control
Although the 'Bogart' seems to be as expected I first thought there was a difference in shade from a previous order. I'm not disappointed with the product if there is full disclosure of variances that can be explained from the manufacturing process. I find your site prices as being high with comparison of other sites and without amazon's pricing I wouldn't be able to order direct. I have ordered a number of items and have experienced secure shipping packages if not accompanied by a hat box. As the attached picture shows the hat which was suppose to be a creased flat crown 'Optimo' what arrived was a fedora style crown, which was damaged. My last three orders through amazon have been damaged so I'm not sure if the problem lies there. i can appreciate the challenges of doing business but I do expect consistency with the process when spending these types of monies, this hit and miss experience is unacceptable. Again should there be a variance in color shading on items like the Bogart toast?

Great hat!
I received the hat according to schedule without any damage to it. The hat was shipped via a corrugated box that was more than ample to protect it from damage. The hat fits perfectly even though I didn't know exactly what size hat to order so I went with a large just in case I needed to adjust it using inserts. Overall, it was a great buy!

Excellent quality and fit!
My husband needed a hat to wear with sport coats for work during the summer that also worked for stage, playing in the band. The fit was perfect, true to his normal measurement. The quality of the straw/weave was superior. I bought the black first. He liked it so much I bought the natural.

Nice hat for the money
The hat is a good value for the money. It is not a fine a straw as some premium Panamas but it is very nice and seems well made. It came well packaged in a sturdy hat box inside a shipping box. It is very slightly smaller than other hats I have that are the same size but it fits.

Stylishly durable
This is a very lightweight and seemingly durable Panama ideal for summer wear. It is very stylish and attractive for the distinguished wearer. The specially treated straw, reinforcement of the crown and wore in the brim should eliminate having to discard hat in two summers due highly unattractive fiber splits. Seemingly a great hat!

Great hat - you should consider this one!
I bought this as a gift for my husband. He has a difficult time finding a hat that fits well. The trend to one-size-fits-all or just S-M or L-XL sizing just isn't suitable and finding a hat that comes with numbered sizes is the best. He LOVES this hat! The quality is very good and the styling was just what he wanted in a summer straw Panama. I'd definitely buy it again.

Hat received in good shape.
