The Art of Jewelry: Wood: Techniques, Projects, Inspiration

This book requires additional time on my part for study. I am confident from my time spent studying it that it will be an excellent reference/resource book as the time I have to work on jewelery projects increases. The information is such that it will be easily applicable to variations on different projects. I will say that it is not a book for beginners unless they view it as something to work towards and that does have value.

The Art of Wood: Jewelry is a well-rounded book for scoping out fresh ideas. It has a wide variety of techniques presented for projects that don't take a fully furnished workshop to make. The materials are for the most part easily obtained and affordable. The book itself is well made with quality photographs. It makes a worthy addition to any woodworker's library.

I guess i was looking for better instructions. Some of the pieces were really nice. I would love to see a new book with fresh new wood designs in it.

The ideas in this book will open your mind to a new world of jewelry making.

This is a great book for anyone interested in creating wood jewelry or incorporating wood into their work. It goes over different types of wood often used by jewelers, tools, connections and finishes via example projects. I would have to say its only real flaw is a lack of pictures for works in progress, and more in dept descriptions of some of the techniques employed in few of the projects (e.g. carving,etc). Overall however it's the best book on woodworking for jewelers that I have found so far.
