This is a pair of headphones I won't be too sad about losing. I have used etymotic for years, but I'm a bit rough on my headphones so needed to find a cheaper, disposable set for those occasions. I use it with my iphone and ipad. The volume control actually does not control the volume of the device, but merely the internal volume of the headset, and it's not very gradual (almost like going between three settings: off, in the middle, and whatever the loudest option is, depending on how you set the volume on the device). Haven't used the microphone a lot, because when I need to have a conversation, I prefer to go with etymotic. When this headset dies, I will keep looking for cheaper alternatives.  Panasonic RPHJE120K In-Ear Headphone, Black  is really great if you're looking for plain headphones, but it's not a headset.UPDATE: After a few weeks, the headphones have developed a persistent hum.

Really nice looking and absolutely great volume control. Giving only 2 stars because the microphone did not work. I have several Samsung headsets that I like to use while walking and during house work. Connecting hands free sets for Bluetooth is sometimes not a quick option. this set would be an extra for me as one of the Samsung models broke. However, after trying to speak with people on several calls I have determined the microphone does not work. I have tested it on another device to see if it was somehow incompatible with my phone and I have sadly determined that the microphone portion does not work. Is it supposed to...or is the mid section where a microphone supposed to be just for volume control. I don't think it is as a small picture/icon of a phone is on the button on this part of the headset.I may buy another hoping that I just had a lemon. Returning the one I have now.

Sound: great quality and clear bass and clear treble. Also it's good to note that it has great noise cancellation from the environment you're in. That may not be a good thing if you want to hear what's going on around you. However, people near you in a quiet environment can hear a tiny bit of noise coming from your earbuds if it's at a regular volume but I don't think it's too big of a problem to note.Feel: the grey/pink buds you see in the picture are size small so it was loose for me. But fortunately this product comes with a pair of size small white buds and a pair of large white buds. I use the large buds and it still doesn't fit perfectly but it's not too loose either so I can bear it. The silicon feels fairly comfortable so that isn't a problem. One thing that bothers me is that if you shake your head slightly, the cable will shake too of course and when it shakes, you can hear the vibration of the cable because it's attached to the earbud of course.Material quality: like most other earbuds, this is plastic but what kept me from giving this 5 stars was the cord is already breaking towards the end and I've only been using this for two days. So either you should be gentle and make sure it doesn't bend too much in that area or you're gonna have to tape it up or something. I'll see what I can do regarding the warranty to replace it.

People are giving these earphones a bad rap. These earphones have a switch weird design but it is what it is. If you don't hit the switch on microphone the music will sound awful. You must hit the switch and make sure to slide volume all way up on microphone. When you hit switch right way the sound quality of these earphones are excellent. These earphones are not perfect. They tend to fall out of my ears sometimes and the design is strange I don't understand why there is a switch , but overall great sounding earphones and have lasted me long time since January this year.Edit: These earphones died did not last as long as my JVC earphones so I deducted 1 star.

Abruptly stopped working within two months of fairly mild use. Most cheap sets of earbuds I get last at least six months even with heavy use. Also worth knowing: the volume control does not change the volume setting on your device, only what's getting through to the earbuds. I found the mike placement poor; it either ended up behind my neck or hanging way down my front. No instructions come for what the different switches do, although one did indeed seem to start and stop the device.

I spent more money on these than I would have in the past going to Wal-Mart, to get better quality headphones, and these were a big disappointment. At first, the controls on the earphones turned out to be sensitive and frequently the source of distortion and muffling of sound. They gradually stopped working as people complained of not being able to hear me. I spent two weeks confirming that the earphones were the culprit by frequently switching out a cheaper set which always solved the problem, and also using them on other phones and devices. I recommend that you save your money or keep shopping.

These are awesome for how much I paid for them! They cancel sound enough that it doesn't bother me when I'm working out. The multiple heads for the actual ear plug are welcome as I have small ears. The volume adjust on the cord is very sensitive and you can make it really loud or really soft without much movement. Great for working out or listening on the bus!

These WERE doing great, for about 7 months, but now the right bud doesn't produce sound.Until that point I thought they were great. Their sound was good and the fit was good, and they looked and felt great in my ears. Now they're only half working, I think the right bud cable came loose and broke connection.
