IceWraps Gel Ice Pack Reusable Wrap or Microwavable Heating Pad for Neck and Shoulders 6"x20"

I bought 2 of these ice packs, one in blue and one in red. I bet you can guess what each was used for ;)I have a ton of SI pain during my pregnancy and was suggested by my chiropractor to switch to gel based ice packs to help form around my back. The day I received these I put one in the freezer and used the other as my heating pad. I love how long these are as they can easily cover one side of my back to the other. I have had zero issued with them in the past month that I've been using them.Heating the bags was fairly easy as well. Just be sure to move the gel around after you take it out of the microwave each time. It helps to distribute the heat and so that you're not ruining the bag. Both the heat and ice stayed very well for the duration I needed them for. The frozen bag wasn't stiff and after a few bends after taking out of the freezer it was easy to form around my back with no stiffness to the bag.

I used this as a hot pack and I have to say, I'm disappointed, considering all the raving reviews. The process of using it as a hot pack is quite tedious and manual: you have to put it in the microwave 3 times at 30 seconds at a time, each time having to distribute the heat. I found this part irritating after a while: 1) because it's time consuming and 2) because it gets hot when you try to move the hot parts to the less warm parts of the pack, which is instructed post-every-30-seconds of the microwaving and you have to be careful not to burn yourself. Then when I put it against my skin it was too hot, so I had to put a towel beneath it, but then I couldn't feel the warmth anymore, so I had to find a thin scarf to put it underneath to protect my skin and pin it with a clothes-pin so it would stay wrapped around my knee.Too annoying and not effective enough: the pack would only stay heated as needed for about ten minutes and even then, the heat wasn't well distributed on my knee, and would have to do the microwaving all over again. Not going to work for me: I had to order an electric heating pad instead, similar to something my physical therapists uses, and it's actually a bit cheaper. Hopefully that'll work a lot simpler and more effectively than this one. FYI: after just a couple of weeks of use, the plastic wrap became creased/wrinkled everywhere, too. Just not a good buy for me at all.

The cold time is not as long as I would like, but sometimes this is just what you need for bursitis or a sprain. I combine this with an ice pack for longer cold at night and am surprised at how much improvement I have the next morning. Good product. You might need to wrap it in a thin towel or weak thick pajamas! A very nice thing to have when you need it.I combine this with the smaller pack and often fold this in half. It's not perfect but it works for me, the price was right and I am happy with it.

These gel packs are so great! I ordered one to use for chronic back pain and liked it so well I bought another. The materials used for the gel pack are high quality and it stays cold for a very long time, I wrap the gel pack in a dish towel, then secure it with a velcro SI joint belt. The recent price reduction made it even more attractive. The only thing I don't like is that there is a loose piece of pkastic with the instructions inside the gel and it can get twisted and turned around, as it did in one of my packs. I did get a speedy replacement though!

Best ice pack for migraine!!! While a bit "firm", it quickly molds to shape of head, unlike most ice packs! It stays cold about 25min (20 min is recc therapy time, anyway;). It also is PERFECT length from base of skull over top o head. I LOVE it!! I just bought 3 more, so they r always cold!! (Of note, the plastic does "pick up" freezer smells...solved this by folding in 1/2 & sliding into gallon ziploc. Smells seem stronger during migraine, but no longer a prob!!)

Very flexible at room temperature. Not as flexible as we expected when cold. Crunchy with ice crystals. Our expectation was that the flexiblity would have been like our other hot/cold gel paks where there is NO noticeable difference in flexibility between room temperature and frozen temperature.Add'l comment: received email to which I cannot reply. I don't see anything in my review that says the pak softens in a few seconds. Most deep freezers are less than minus 20.

It's the perfect length to go across my body, my wife thought of purchasing this for me because I had surgery (she's such an angel and so helpful) ive needed to ice my body, this has worked wonders it stays cool for about 40 minutes which is perfect because I can only have it on for 20mins at a time per my surgeons suggestion.

The length of this gel pack is nice but the pack isn’t as full as I expected
