Must have product for handyman and carpenters
Firstly I would thank Stanley Black & Decker and Amazon for bringing this product for reasonable price. The saw box is made of high quality ABS plastic but it is light weight so you have to fasten it to workbench or something heavy base using screws. Also we need to be careful when securing materials using metal champs, as it may break the box if over tightened. I will be pouring cement inside it to make it solid and heavy.I do wooden projects using plywood and this box helps to cut small boards and frames at 90 or 45 degrees easily. It also helps to cut pvc pipes when secured properly. Saw is very sharp and cuts wood like a butter. I have even used it without saw box and able to cut straight. Very comfortable handle. Finally the product is VFM and it is must have for all handyman and carpenters.

Light and effective. A well made DIY tool.
This is not for the professional since the hollow guide will not stand the rigors of hard use. But for the DIY enthusiast this is ideal and economical. The saw is extremely sharp and well made. It is sturdy and looks very durable. The box, however, is only made for light use. It is totally hollow from the inside so once you scrape out the grooves, there will be nothing left to guide the saw anymore. It is also very lightweight plastic. It tends to move around a lot with the movement of the saw and you need to either screw it down or use some kind of a G-Clamp jig to keep it steady. But for the price this is a very good deal. I recommend this for all DIYers.

Very useful and good quality saw
Purchased this for small cuts in wood and avoid using jig saw or circular saw every time.Pros-The saw is extremely good and sharp. Long blade ensures long continuous strokes giving you a very clean cut.The handle is comfortable and easy grip. Doesn't slip in handThe width of the blade is around 4 inch which helps in avoiding saw turning in middle and making slant cutThe mitre box is the best part. Made of good quality plastic, it is light weight but very sturdy. It has cuts built in to make 45°, 90° and 135° cuts. These are extremely useful for people who aren't expert in keeping saw straight. The saw fits nicely in the mitre box thus ensurig you do not put your hand on blade accidentally.Cons-Though the product as is is very good, I feel some modifications can be done to make it even better. There is no handle or clutch to fix saw to mitre box thus you have to pick these with both hands. There could be a suction kind lick provided at the base so that the box doesn't mind while cutting. Right now, you either have to clamp it to table or hold it very tightly. The top of the blade has an additional layer of metal to hide sharp edge. This you will not be able cut very close to table surface horizontally like it you want to cut off dowels etcBut over all, a very very handy and good protect. It has made my life very easy

Not Adequately Sturdy. Plasic Material.
Primary reason for buying this Product is for the Mitre Box, not the Saw.Of my various Purchases from Amazon, buying this is a rare mistake of mine. Not that I regret, but have lost all my respect for B&D.Got totally fooled by the first feature of Product Description - "Material : Steel". Nowhere it is mentioned that it is made of Plastic. That too flimsy Plastic. So much for German engineering !

Useless mitre saw
This is the second most useless item I've purchased on Amazon.in, just as well it is unavailable as I write this. This review is also after several months after purchase. The plasticky, ugly-orange support does not guide the saw well, besides begin impossible to clamp on to the table (though it is possible to screw it down with provided holes). It is also impossible to clamp the workpiece because of the draft angle on the vertical (support) sections. The included saw just has too much play in the slots, and does not inspire any confidence. The saw tooth-pitch is too coarse. Ultimately, you end-up with a cut that is near - but NEVER - the desired angle (90 or 45 degrees, also 45 degree compound angle). The saw, besides begin too coarse, does not cut at all! Don't even think of this if you are building any kind of furniture. Huts, maybe.I've thrown mine away (saw as well). It is easier and less frustrating to make a mitre box of my own that works reliably. What a waste!

Useful tool
It isnt adjustable. Bought it for about Rs 700 but wasnt the easiest to cut through dried crate wood, so ended up investing in a jigsaw machine. May end up using the saw and mitre box for smaller DIY projects. Its akways worth having a manual tool as stand by. This one is that back up.

Good quality, but teeth count is less for the intended purpose
The saw is of good grade steel. The plastic guide is just o.k. Mitre saws are often used on framing reapers and molds, which call for fine teeth for smooth cut. This one has coarse teeth which rips the last grain at the end of the cut. One has to be careful with this. A typical cross-cut saw should have double the teeth-per-inch count.
