Small, Aerodynamic, Inexpensive Cargo Carrier.
I carefully looked at various smaller cargo carriers for an 8500 mile road trip from Miami to Seattle and back. I did a trip similar to this two years ago and had a cargo carrier that attached via my trailer hitch. I hated it. It blocked my rear door from opening, it blocked my rear view camera, and it scraped on certain driveways. It also caused the front of my vehicle to rise up due to the weight distribution and drive oddly. This was highly annoying for thousands of miles. For this year; I ordered another type initially, and then found this one; causing me to refuse the shipment on the first and to order this one. It took me about 30 minutes to install on my Subaru crosstrek by myself. It wouldn't have taken that long; but I was very careful about its equal alignment front to back and side to side. I also put down a layer of gorilla tape completely covering the attachment slots. I think poked a small hole in the gorilla tape for the ubolts to poke through and attach. This was in hopes of further waterproofing it. I have been driving around town and the interstate, and have noticed very little wind noise up to 75mph. Despite its small and aerodynamic nature, I fit three camp chairs, two tents, several sleeping bags, several pairs of shoes, numerous towels, and still have a little space leftover. It did a great job freeing up my cabin for passengers. My checked bag would have fit, though I wanted to have that in the cabin with me. Better yet I do not have to deal with any of the annoying things that I dealt with regarding my trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier. I would strongly recommend this to anyone needing an inexpensive, smaller cargo carrier. If any downsides are discovered on my 8500 mile trip; I'll update this review.

Great box for the money!
Got this box for my 2004 Mazda 3 hatchback. Easy to install by yourself. Make sure to put tape over the unused portions of the mounting slots to prevent water entry. The size of the box looks good on smaller cars. Not too bulky like some others I've seen. Definitely does not look as nice or have as many features as the high-dollar Thule and Yakima boxes, but you can't really beat this box at just under $200. I've only driven with the box on for a few highway miles, but so far, there is very little wind noise up to about 75 mph. Each car will be different, but around 80 mph is when the wind noise starts becoming fairly audible--not bad, but definitely noticeable. Box mounts solidly and surprisingly doesn't rattle when driving. Great box for the price. Fits a bunch of stuff too! I'll be taking this on a 2500 mile road trip in a couple weeks and I will add to the review then with my updated impressions. Edit: Just completed the road trip and I am taking 1 star off because the box has one flaw. At highway speeds, especially if there is a headwind at all, the top of the box lifts up from the rushing air, causing water, bugs, etc to get in. This also creates a lot of drag and strain on the box's latches. I had to stop and secure the box lid down with bungie cords. I'll probably figure out some way to make a latching system to hold the front end down more securely. With the box secured I noticed a ~3 mpg loss over normal (29 instead of 32). Before I had secured it I was getting 26 instead of 32. Other than that, I'm very happy with the box. I would definitely buy it again.

great box, great price
Simply put: awesome. I received the box this afternoon and it took all of about 15 minutes to go from packaging to on my roof. So easy. Included all necessary hardware for a smooth installation, and the lock works great. The box is much larger than I was expecting. I'm about to drive it from Colorado to Pennsylvania. If it performs anything less than flawlessly, I'll edit this review. Otherwise, if THIS PART isn't edited out, you can safely assume this bad boy made the journey with no problems.

Everybody researching for a cargo system should stop and buy this!
It took me 3 weeks to research everything there is to consider for a cargo system and finally settled for the Prorack. First it looks almost the same and probably made of the same materials as a Yakima or Thule. What sealed the deal was the price. This is really worth the money. I'm glad i didn't get the more expensive Yakima or Thule. The Prorack is easy to install, is very aerodynamic, and is made of quality materials. At first I thought it's not going to hold out during the trip, but after almost 2,000 miles of traveling, it has exceeded all my expectations - rain or shine - no problems whatsoever. Will recommend to everybody I know. Save money on this one! And for the guy who asked a couple of weeks ago: Yes, it will fit 2 golf bags!

Unit cracked at 6 months
After only 6 months of normal/minimal use (mounted atop a 2012 Ford Focus), bottom portion plastic around hinge is cracked, rendering the entire product completely useless. I purchased a Yakima brand hoping for quality, and was willing to pay for quality. Either my specific Cargo box was defective, or the craftsmanship is garbage. Either way, I would recommend shopping around for the best materials and warranty prior to purchasing this product.

but not bad. Still got 28+ mpg
Holds 3, yes, 3 golf bags! Two stand bags and one fairly large, (not pro) cart bag. Still had room for shoes and clubs from our 4th bag which we placed in the cargo area of our 2013 CRV, thus saving space for our luggage. Can't say enough about this cargo box! Did everything we wanted it to. It's sleeker than most, small outside, large inside. If you are a golfer, not a skier, this is the one you want! Fit on top of our CRV without impacting antenna or sunroof. Added some noise at 70 mph, but not bad. Still got 28+ mpg, on a 1000 mile trip, though we've not yet tested it sans cargo box. Maybe a 1 to 2 mpg hit, my guess, but well worth the cost. As I said, if you are a golfer, look no further! Easy 10 min install, comes already assembled, unlike others. Was concerned that the knobbed nuts securing it to the car might work out, but I don't see any movement at all. This is the one to buy!

A good value but with some weaknesses
I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed in how the Prorack performed on our recent holiday vacation which was approximately 500 miles in light-to-moderate rain, but after seeing how the box attached to the crossbars I was not at all comfortable with my contents remaining dry on our trip. Slots are drilled into the bottom of the box to allow a universal fit to most (probably all, actually) types of crossbars. The slots themselves are probablyl 12 inches long and 1/4 inch wide but you really only need about 4 inches to fit the bracket. When the box is installed there are still many parts of the slot that are exposed to the exterior. I found that a small amount of water did make it into our box through these slots, as well as some from the front lip of the lid. Considering how fast we were moving, how long it rained and how heavy it was raining it was a very small amount - like probably about an once of water in total sprayed along the inside bottom of the box - but it was enough that i wouldn't want to carry sensitive electronic equipment in the box nor my collection of comic books. If you are on your way home with suitcases full of dirty laundry i wouldn't be concerned about water penetration but keep a box of large garbage bags on hand and wrap everything else before putting in the box. This worked great for us. My only other disappointment was that the bolts and nuts that are used to attach the box to the crossbars stand about 1.5 inches high on the inside of the box. If you are trying to fit a tight package it takes up critical space. If you are packing clothing in suit cases or duffel bags it's probably not going to be a problem. Overall a good value that has proven to be dependable and reliable.

Best bang for the buck, no complaints at all
Bought it for 4000 mi road trip (summer) for 2008 subaru outback. It did very well. Fits good, takes about 20 minutes to put it on, adjust and tighten. An extra hand would help, but doable just with two hands. It holds good, was driving through the rain for about 4 hours at highway speeds, no leaks. I added duct tape ;) on the U-bolt openings, and then just poked though it with U-bolts. If the cargo box adds any extra noise it is minimal, not bothering at all. Outback's rear hatch opens just fine, there is maybe 1-2 inch clearance. Its only 10 cubic feet, but fits more stuff than I thought. I would say just a little less than Outback's trunk.

Excelente costo Beneficio
Mas de 1800 kilómetros recorridos en Diciembre 2016 y la caja se desempeñó muy bien. Fácil de instalar (sin necesidad de herramientas) y bastante volumen de almacenamiento.
