I love it, I watch it all the time. Absolutely hilarious

This review is for the standard DVD edition of 'Evil Bong' released by Full Moon Pictures.If you were using a Venn Diagram then this movie is for the area that overlaps both 'very low budget movie fans' and 'Cheech & Chong' fans.I can't give this more than 2 stars. This just wasn't very good. 2 stars despite the fact that I like hot strippers!PLOT/SUMMARY: Alistair McDowell answers an ad for a room in an apartment. He gets there and pays the rent only to find out he has no room, just a mattress. He will be living with a group of 'stoners' in a very unkempt apartment. One of the stoner's answer's and ad advertising an 'Evil Bong'. The bong arrives and it is as advertised. It's evil. If you take a 'hit' you pass out and appear to die. Your soul is transported to a dream world strip club. One by one they all go there. Alistair is left along with a girl that he was introduced to by one of his roommates. After she ends up going to the dream world strip club Alistair voluntarily takes a 'hit'. He wants to save the girl. Before he goes, Chong from Cheech & Chong shows up to claim his bong. He tells Alistair that he is the only person to escape the Evil Bong's strip club. He gives Alistair some vitamins before he goes. Chong fails to destroy the Bong and gets tricked into going to the dream world. Once there he has a plan to defeat the Bong and send everyone back home.COMMENTS: The music was too loud on my TV. I don't know if this was an issue specific to me or it is a broader problem. Maybe I needed to change the settings. I found that the music drowned out some of the dialogue andobviously I had difficulty hearing it. Having no subtitles made things worse.-Opening credits take almost 3 minutes with nothing happening. This is too long. Either put the credits at the end or speed things up. At the very least show us something while the credits are rolling.-I am not a fan of rap music which was prevalent throughout.-It turns out that the vitamins were useless. Even though they bring you to your senses, they don't actually get you back so what is the point?-I'm not sure how this was filmed. My copy seemed to be filmed in low resolution. You could see the lines in the video as if it were enlarged.RECOMMENDATIONS/CONCLUSIONS: I'm giving this movie 2 stars. It just wasn't very good. Being an independent cheapie is no excuse for such a poor plot. The normal things that low budgets hurt weren't that much of an issue to me. The special effects were acceptable and the minimal amount of locations is acceptable also. What is not, is poorly written dialogue and a horror movie with virtually no suspense or surprises. A good director can make up for some of what you lose with a low budget.Recommended for bong users everywhere!Recommended for fans of low budget independent movies who want something just a bit different.Somewhat Recommended for fans of Cheech & Chong.Highly Recommended for people who own an Evil Bong.Not recommended for people who don't smoke or do drugs.Not recommended for me. I won't be watching any of the numerous sequels.

I haven't watched it yet but the case smells funny, like sawdust and smoke, also it came way later than everything else in my order which isnt a problemmostly just it smells funky and weird and I dont trust thatthe movie is fine and thats why I bought it I enjoy it but Charlie Band why does the DVD stink

It is a silly movie to watch, and it delivers that humorous comedy that Chong is famous for. I met Chong in Hawaii, when he had a few shows in Waikiki. Great guy and a very funny guy. This is not 'Gone with the Wind', and it is not the 'Titanic' either. It is made for those who love the humor of a Great American, USA, Comedian named Chong. He delivers a great show and a great movie. It is worth the money. Make sure you get it legal and not some bunk bootleg off the street. Chong is a Magnificent Comedian, so go ahead a buy it, he is a good ole' family man, plain and simple.

Terrible movie. Dumb plot. Bad acting. Bad dialogue. Awful special effects. And then...Tommy Chong gives a single line towards the end of the movie that had me cracking up for 5 minutes.

It's not a great movie, but it's fun. If you fancy a laugh then it's worth a watch. Basically it's like a way above average sitcom, with the same level of production values, but much better writing and performances.

If this is trying to be funny, it does not work. You need to be smoking the same things, these idiots are on, to watch this pile of rubbish.
